Brian Pearson is chosen to be grand marshal of one of America's biggest St Patrick's Day parades.(barely 25 miles from New York)
He'd been given political asylum in the USA despite being convicted of bombing two Irish Police stations.

Cy Hughes of Nanuet, president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Rockland County , told the New York Journal News that being named grand marshal was the highest honour the group could bestow.

Does that mean because he doesn't wear a turban he was not a terrorist ?

It's a dinky town in Rockland County, NY--a bedroom suburb. And that paper is the local weekly wiper.
