Conference Board and University of Michigan produce consumer indices
New paper says that anything more than 10-point dip indicates recession

Yeah, Biden or not, it's all over the Globe.
Food and electricity prices are going up, salaries stay the same.

I'm starting to think that anti-lockdown protesters were partially right.
Our economies are in shambles, and what did we achieve? The virus is back.

In saying that, I'm not excusing anti-maskers/anti-vaxxers,
who are either morons or paid Kremlin/Right wing sock puppets
and made things 10 times worse.

Without a vaccine, preventing the spread is one of your only options.

I've not seen any alternative offered up....just a bunch of bitching

oh, vaccine is definitely the solution.
Just look at Russia, Romania and Bolgaria, the least vaccinated countries in Europe, because they believed the Right-wing propaganda.
The new Italy-es *shudders*

But as for lockdowns?

I'm not against them per se, nor do I blame authorities.
We're dealing with an unknown virus, who tf could have predicted delta?

I'm just exhausted and frustrated.
All these economic sacrifices 2 to lockdowns, yet we're back to square one.

Maybe it would have been better to just protect those at risk (pay them to stay home or isolate) and let everyone else work & acquire immunity & not destroy the economy.

The virus is too infectious. It is even moreso now. I don't really see a way around that. And now that idiots are t getting vaccinated ....and those same idiots don't want more lockdowns.

They will be the ones that suffer the most.

And yet still they blame it on the responsible ones

We did have an alternative. Some states stayed open and allowed businesses to give their employees the option to stay home. Remember how you all screamed that the bodies would pile up in Georgia, Texas and Florida? The infection and death rates aren't much different than states with the most Draconian lockdown measures.

Because American protesters conflate the two:

But over here (Australia and NZ) --but for some idiotic exceptions--
most protesters are far more rational.
---- If they protest, they protest only lockdowns.
The same protesters encourage vaccination, wear masks and keep social distancing while protesting.

It's an entirely different vibe:

1. US, Russia, Romania and Bolgaria (and their paid handlers) -- chaotic, irrational protests "my freedom my rights no lockdowns no masks no vaccines no social distancing"

2. versus Australia/NZ/Scandinavian countries: "we agree with social distancing and vaccination, but we're worried about lockdowns and our economy."

You wonder why such difference.
It might be culture (the 'freedom' anti-govt. mistrust is big for no.1
or that political subverters and paid instigators have been more active in the US/Russia.

I'm sorry, but I'm so confused. I don't understand "you all screamed." Who is you? And where was this screaming? Please describe these draconian lockdown measures. It all sounds very frightening to me. Which states took these horrible measures? California had to be one because we all know that California is the home of all evil.

But what I really, really don't understand is that all over the internet I find statistics like this: Deaths per million in Georgia: 2,659; Florida: 2,707; Texas; 2,415; California: 1,803. Seem different to me. But maybe I'm wrong.
