The 50s were a weird time. This was the same time when cars had huge chrome breasts and women wore bullet bras, but most of them did not nurse their children.

They did about 10-12 years ago. I was broke and they were the cheapest brand and had a coupon on the pack. Soooo not worth it.

The cigarette thing wasn't particularly amusing to me, but when I kept clicking the NEXT button I found loads of funny shit. Vintage advertising is almost as good as vintage porn.

Those grocery store prices, though...Imagine, beef roasts for $0.45 a pound. Of course, my mother would probably have been bitching about that, because at that time, a salary of $10K a year was something to strive for.

My parents paid about the same for the house I grew up in as I did for my car. *sigh*

My parents also paid about as much for their house as a car costs nowadays. (I've never paid that much for any of my cars).

Maybe property values had gone up when they refinanced? I don't know!
