Amazing Volcano Pics!

You can see almost any volcanic eruption from orbit, given the cameras those things carry. But what I meant was that given the geologic history of Iceland, it could be worse, far worse.

The island could sink? Oh, Oh, I know...it will capsize.

I'd love to understand what caused all the lightning.
But they are some seriously dramatic pictures.

Bear's point about Iceland is well made. If the one next to Eya fallo kull (?) goes off, there will be some real trouble. But I wondered about a certain Caldera in Jellystone. . . . .

Thanks so much for posting the link - I can't stop looking at the photos. How I wish I could take pics like that...

What will they think of next....?????

Not to worry. It's all good. Even an eruption the size of Krakatoa is no longer a problem. ami said so...

Even if Yellowstone or another super volcano goes off, I can picture methods to cleanse the atmosphere of dust and ash, preventing a nuclear winter, hell, a sufficient number of high altitude weather balloons with a fine mesh between two or more, could reduce and perhaps eliminate the threat.

The point I wanted to make was that the mind of man and our every widening technology, may indeed be able to reduce the effects of a Krakatoa like eruption that changed global weather patterns for years.
