It just simply amazes me that instead of critiquing my writing style or lack there of, most anon comments are a social commentary on the content of the story. They don't say if the story was told well or if the writing style was easy to read.

I just don't understand, after all this is an adult erotic literature site to which anyone can post a story. What's with the social commentary?

Just a few of my thoughts.

Can I guess in two words or less?

Wives

I can guess it in 3 words...
shameless self promotion :nana:

Where are the comments zeb? NONE of your stories had any!

I didn't check out any stories for comments. It really was a guess. There are a few categories where certain elements of the readership expect a certain formula; anything else and they attack like a pack of rabid dogs regardless of the literary content. Unfortunately in the case of the Loving Wives category, there are multiple packs of such dogs and there's no way to even begin to please more than a couple of them. I've often considered creating an alt to post ridiculous stories in that category just so I could read the responses, but it never quite seems worth my time.

Regardless, Sarah is right, one must simply consider the source and move on.

Holy crap! What a genius idea! I'm gonna do it with my already existant, but not used alt..****!!!

Interesting thought maybe?

Though I haven't read all of your stories I have read a couple and you write in my opinion really well, however there are a couple of editing issue, but I'm not judging because my own editing sucks. So that said, I think that the reason that so many people take an issue with this topic is two fold, either they want it to happen in their real lives, or they've had it happen and it didn't turn out the way they wanted it too. But that's just my opinion...and as the saying goes opinions are like assholes everyone has one. I also urge you to write on about whatever subject YOU like and if others don't like it: a suggestion..don't read it! and you have to say fuck it and not care.

Thanks for the feedback

What to thank everyone for the feedback.

Shannon: I did turn the comments off so they are no longer available. Sorry as I was fed up with deleting the comments that I found offensive. It would really take something bad to offend me considering what I am writing.

sweetsubsarahh: Thanks, I certainly will not be agonizing over the comments made.

Calibetsy: Thanks. I know my editing needs improvement and I am working on that for future stories.

;)

Comments

Be glad they at least read your story through. I managed one unpleasant comment (deleted) from an anonymous poster who admitted to not getting past the first page because the main character, he determined, was a "queer" - which he was not. This individual had the temerity to ask if the story got better after the first page.

Now, I don't mind negative comments on my story telling or the ideas behind my stories. But such a comment is useless and childish.

I have gotten a few bad comments, and so far I haven't deleted them. I leave them there as a kind of reminder that not everyone will like what I write and I also don't want to dilute myself by only keeping the good feedback.

Also I find that a lot of people critize a story, because they don't believe a part or all of the story written could happen in real life. Not everyone who writes and posts to this site has done everything they have written about.

but that is just my 9 cents (2 cents + GST)

That is what happens around here... comments on WHAT the story was about not the actual writing of it...

I have seen some horrible comments because of categories around here....

Let them roll off your back....

When all is said and done you picked the category that you wanted to write about and if THEY didn't want to read that type of stuff then they should have picked a different category.

I Get Them, Too

I get plenty of negative comments, but I don't delete them. I am annoyed by connentators who will not give email addresses so one can respond.

Don't get me wrong, I don't delete the negative comments, just those that violate the rules or I deem of an offesive nature.

I certainly don't like deleting them, as I am a firm believer in freedom of speech but when the language used could be construed as very off color and off the subject I feel I, as the author have the right to remove such trash.

I think my personal favorite was someone posted a comment after my story 'Drummer Love' saying that she was impressed that the main character could have sex three times after playing drums in a rock concert. That part was cool.
The third comment was calling the first person and idiot because they first person OBVIOUSLY didn't understand that I had used creative license.

The other was that someone posted a ho-hum response to 'The Bad Place,' saying it was X-Files meets Ghostbusters meets something else. Another respondant stuck up for me saying that the first poster needed to get some thing of their own out there before making bad comments.

The best part of it all? Both negative comments? Yup. Anonymous.

I must agree with your comments as well as other comments made here. I also have had a good deal of comments about the story and how the main character was a real bitch or the husband was an idiot etc. I have not deleted any apart except, when like myself, someone double posts.

Of course almost all negative comments are from that mysterious person caled "Anonymous in USA" , and to think how stupid I am, as I thought "smith or Jones" were the most common names. Anyway, I figure most of these negative comments are written by "failed" writers, or else by "hopeful winners" who just want to have your score lowered. Who cares, I don't write for the disgruntled, but for myself and the many people who enjoy having a read and fantasizing for a short time like I myself do.

Keep writing and I will have to check your stories sometime, but if I comment, you can be sure it will have my name on it. Cheers.

I agree, I write for myself first, my friends second (who so far have loved every story I have posted) and then everyone else. I just have a good chuckle every time I read "Anonymous in USA" comments, the poor slob took the time to read the story and to make a comment about the content.

Oh by the way I have his email - anon@aol.com - we have been exchanging emails about what a sick person I am to be writing all these stories about a whimp husband, cheating wife.

So if anyone else would like to drop him a line please do.

I think it would be a waste of time with many of them (to e-mail and such), as they would just make complaints about the way you set out the e-mail ):

On another note:- I was just over in another thread and saw a posting from you about wanting to "teach a thing or two" to a person (S.S.) :p guess what? I know the person "intimately" if you understand my meaning. I don't think you could handle her, she is wild. :p

Mmmm. I would sure like to give it try. May go out with a smile on my face. :)

That's Life...

You're always going to have people that rate the story, not on it's own merits, but, on their own moral code or personal preferences.

I don't read stories that don't interest me, and I don't rate them either, 'cause that wouldn't be fair to the writer.

The thing is that you can't give people a list of Fair Voting/Commenting Practices, and so people have their own guidelines and rules. Sometimes arbitrary guidelines and rules.

That's true, but I was brought up to follow the that golden rule. 'If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, don't say anything at all.' Guess I'm just old fashioned. Of course, I was raised in the age of enlightenment, when a child could walk along a street at night without being afraid of being abducted or shot.

I'm not saying we should regress to that day as the technology of today is a fabulous step forward for mankind, just wish the moral fiber of the world was 'live and let live'.

Ok, so I'm preaching to the choir. :D

Similar sentiments here as well Zeb. Today though I did vote and post a comment on a story I read. It was in the 'New' list, was an "Incest/Taboo" story, it had a story line about Chriustmas. Gave it a big round of applause as it was a story that was more like a bit of Verse and had a comical story line.

Just went to find it and re-read it, as well as post my comment here, but it is no longer there????? Makes me wonder that if I post a good comment the story is withdrawn ): :p Maybe someone can tell me what happened to it. Did not book-mark it but it was about the "Xmas Pussy in the REd Hat"

was greatfull for your link. Strange though, it must have been taken done for some reason, as I did post the first comment, and it did apper, but now my comment is not there????? Very strange indeed, but a good funny story regardless.

Actually your comments are still there. Go to the bottom and click on read all user comments, go to the bottom of that page and you will notice there is a second page. You are at the bottom of that one since you are the first to comment.
