AM pic thread problem

K... soooo... some really nice people (friends and also people I've never received PMs from before) have asked me if I have a pic thread and if not, will I be starting one.

Since I'm bored tonight with nothing else to do... well... okay, why the heck not.

I looove to take pictures. I took most of the ones of Marquis and I's "Hawaiian Vacation" (including all from that series that he's used as avatars) and I've taken quite a lot of sexy and/or nudes of myself in the past. Mostly on nights like tonight... when I have nothing to do and want to (try to) get creative. (No, no pussy shots or other lewd pictures.) Also, I've had a couple offers to do fetish modeling here in Hawaii. Not sure if I'm bold enough to pursue that, but if I do I'll make sure to post them in my pic thread. (With the consent of the photographer(s) of course.)

Anyway, please help me out here people, I'm havin' a problem! Lit makes me keep the file sizes under 100KB and when I resize them (by pixels... am I doing that wrong? Is there another way to get the files smaller?) the resolution comes out HORRIBLE. (I'm using Irfanview, it's the only program I have.)

So does anyone know how to resize pics without losing so much resolution? Or perhaps know of some *free* webspace where I can upload pics and then just link to them from my thread? That would be awesome.

Feel free to PM me or respond in this thread, whichever is easier on you.

As my photos are all taken with my webcam, I don't have great resolution anyways, so generally, I don't have that problem. When I was using a digicam, however, I found that the higher the res on the cam, the more space it took (duh), and I'd be in resizing hell. So I simply lowere the res. Made for less perfect photos, sure, but you can still post them.


And as to linking photos elsewhere... I've seen people use photobucket, but not sure if it's a free service, as I've never looked into it.

free webspace-imageshack is cool, and they give you a link that you can just copy and paste, (choose the "thumbnail for forums" one-its the second from the top -you'll see it after you upload yr first file), then paste that link in the thread and you'll get what we have below-voila-a clickable thumbnail that will lead ppl to the fullsize pic. registering is free, you just gotta give em an email (make sure its a working one tho).

Thank you! Yup, I'm the girl from his photos... There are also photos of me and C lying on a bed, handcuffed, and some of just M and I, and some of the three of us. Lots of pics, but I of course won't be including any of them in my own am pic thread. We are no longer together, but he is welcome to continue using them (as if he'd take them down even if I asked, lol.)

as far as i know theres no limit to how many pics you can upload..not sure how they do that, since theres no banner advertising-or advertising of any sort that i can see-but thats what it says on their FAQ page. also, you get 100mb of bandwidth on each photo, per hour, which is a ton.

Hey Killi, I know you're happy with imageshack, but just FYI (or maybe it will help someone else), the better graphics programs, like Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro give you several choices in resizing algorithems. Usually pixilation/pixelated is the worst. In Paint Shop Pro, the best choice is something called "smart size." Works beautifully. Unlike Photoshop, PSP is manageable price-wise and learning-curve wise.

Well, *grr* I thought I had been all through his pic thread but I guess I'm going to have to go through it again! I missed the above mentioned shots! You sure take great pictures. I've been admiring the Hawaii shots a great deal.
