Who hates filing their income tax return , on time?? I just finished getting my stuff together to file my 1999 tax return. After the usual multiple extensions, I will get the info over to my CPA tomorrow so that it can be filed by October 15th, but I just can't stand doing it. As long as I can remember, I have waited to the last possible minute to file. I really don't mind paying the taxes, I just hate doing the paperwork.

Yes, Blue,...you are the ONLY one...

:p

Sorry, no sympathy here. I've filed on time every year except one when I needed to get an extension due to circumstances beyond my control. It's not that difficult if you just throw everything you need into a folder during the year as you get it. Then all your stuff is in one place, even if you haul it to your local friendly CPA to sort out for you.

I hate taxes I am candian so it means i get to see 75% of my income go to the goveremnet while I see no results from it. I bomb doing taxes so I grab all the reciepts and plop them down on H&R's desk February 3rd. and let thenm wort out the mess.

Gawd, I love it that my dad is a Lawyer!! :) He prepairs my taxes each year. :)

You silly man. Why let the government hold your money all that much longer? Unless you end up paying through the nose, then extend away.

Mine are filed usually about the 5th of February. Takes so long cause the morons we've worked for (ie Department of Defense) think having the W2 form to you by January 31st means printing it January 31st and passing it out, say next week.

:) Perfectionism has its plus side... my books are pretty much ready to go to the CPA at any given time. But not today, I'm writing porn, the CPA will just have to wait.

You're making me nervous, I thought the only thing I needed was that paper my company gave me.. You know, starts with a 'W'. You're telling me there's more?

Never said:

I saw your name pop up and figured you were going to yell at me for still being up again tonight- I'm going to bed soon! Really I am!
But since you didn't lecture me, yup, there are other things you need. I don't know about your state taxes. For federal, in your case since you're so young, you probably just any Form 1099's you received for bank accounts' interest paid to you during the year. Unless you have mutual funds, stock portfolio, bonds, etc. that we don't know about. :D Once you hit the stage where you itemize deductions, it gets more complicated with tracking charity, state taxes paid, mortgages, etc.

You're feeling better... At least that's what you said. Laying in bed all day is bad for your muscles.

Nope, no S&B yet.. I'm thinking about doing some E-trade though. I only have a checking account on at my back now and the state just wants a copy of that W paper, no mortgage, but I work two jobs. I'll give $200 to the Salvation Army at Christmas, does that count as a charity?

You know, you're useful to have around. Do people harass you like this all the time or is it just me?

What your suposed to file???

I thought you were supposed to keep it in case they ask for it???

Maybe I better file one next year.

No not alone...

I have never asked for an extension but...I always wait until the 15th of April. We always have to pay :(

They really sock it to double income, no kids family unit. Oh well.....
