Many times I will comment directly TO another person on this board in a post but it will be so deep in a thread that they don't know they have been recognized and so they never respond, even though I was anxiously awaiting their response.

On the other end... I feel pretty certain that on occasion people actually address me on a thread as well and since I don't have the time to read EVERY thread, that I miss it and therefore potentially (but not "intentionally") may make that person feel ignored.

So I was thinking... wouldn't it be cool to have a thread that everyone was sure everyone else was going to go check and that way you could "hint hint" at others when you want them to respond to you? Or you could "feel the love" if someone was trying to say something to you?

Well, if so... post it here, if not, no skin off me, the thread just dies that's all... I'll start...

In case they missed the thread...

To DCL or Lasher: PlEASE come back !!!

Cheffie......you are a dog...lol

:p

doggie style I mean.

Oh and Jade...did you say something? I think I missed it.
Please repeat....;)

Yea, Jade, Many many times I await a response from someone only to have it never get noticed or fall victim to being covered up by someone much more clever than me or with more insight....I hate that when it happens....

My insights are few and far between, so I gotta get em noticed when they pop up....hehehe

Hey DCL....get your humorous ass back on this board damn it.
* that outta do it Jade.

SIREN.. Yes that is EXACTLY how I feel!

I wonder what the word for that would be? Um... "outwittisized?" But yea... that really sucks... thought I was the only one!

YEa... DCL really should listen now that there are two hot chicks wanting him back, wouldn't ya think? ;)

Xander, I am!!

I know exactly what you mean. At that point I usually turn to email (most people here seem to have their email addy posted). I never intentionally ignore someone (well, usually never - you can be assured however that I would NEVER ignore you, Jade!)... so I do hope that if someone is expecting a response from me and they don't get it that they would email me as well.

This is actually the main reason I don't post very much...sometimes I just want to make a comment to a peticular person but I don't think they will ever see it anyway because there is no gaurantee that they are going to come back to that thread ....and I don't want to keep reposting just to keep the thread on the front page ..so most of the time I just keep my thoughts to myself.

Jade....Jade???? are you here?

And Ditto what Dill said.

Where oh Where can my Never be??

And sometimes you wish that someone wouldnt respond
to you....damned if ya do, damned if ya dont-get a
response that is...

It seems like whenever I have posted something stupid
I always get someone to point it out...but when I post
something funny or sexy or insightful...I get ignored.
Or maybe it is that I JUST THINK it was funny, sexy or
insightful.

mmmmmmmmm......

;)

*listening intently to your words* Wow Siren that was funny, sexy AND insightful! Really...

No... really...

I mean it...

I do!

I've had the occasional thread, where I personally thought it was an interesting topic, only to have one person answer it. A good example is the one I wrote last week, about the space race.

Yet I started one a few months ago with a simular topic, and everyone seemed to join in. I think it all depends on the mood of the reader on any given day. Sometimes the answers are all addressed to the person who started the thread, while other times, it turns into a flirtithon. (is that a word) haha

By the way Jade, I think you're the sexiest, most cuddliest, horniest woman in the known universe.

I know there was nothing subtle about that, but I like to make you smile. lol

HAhaha Dillinger.....

I know what you mean... some threads take off and others die an early death and I'm not sure I've figured out what makes the difference (and if I do I'd probably also know why Survivor is so popular).

Perhaps you're right - it depends on the mood at the moment, who happens to be on the board when its posted (the right mix of people is required, I believe as well as the fact that some people's names draw other people in)...

Madame Pandora's quote thread was one I loved that did manage to last a while but only because of a few tenacious souls... most people didn't play.

Yet my orgasm thread seems to be holding its own and I really wasn't sure how that one would go over.

Hell Dillinger....you gotta know that

:p

THREADS? WHO NEED THREADS?

Forget the threads altogether. If you want to address the person directly, why not just e-mail them?
As for as the thread is concerned, whenever you submit a thread/post, there is a box at the bottom of your computer screen that inquires whether or not you want to be informed of a respond by e-mail ("E-MAIL NOTIFICATION"). If the person to whom you are responding clicked that box, they should have received an e-mail stating that you submitted a respond to them. God knows that I still get flooded with e-mails telling me that someone has responded to a thread that I responded to but did not introduce (i.e., "something new and different..."), Damn, I wish I had clicked NO to that damn post.
So, to hell with threads. E-mails are more private and personal. And that way, you are sure that they received it. It is possible that they read the respond to their post that you had submitted and ignored it. Or in the case of many of us Literoticans, refrained from coming to Literotica for whatever reason.

Guy......You got mail.

:p

GuyJD - I agree with you about e-mail (as I said above) - when appropriate.

However as far as the Email Notification box goes - I believe anyone who has been here more than a couple days has gotten that turned off automatically in their preferences. I was flooded with notifications from the most insignificant posts. No matter how interested I am in a thread I never opt of notification, I'd rather try and remember to go back and check the thread.

Also - some threads get so LARGE that reading all the responses would take more time than I have even if I did opt to get notified. Once again - that brings us back to e-mail.

By the way - you can turn off that flood of notifications. If you go into your very first post in that thread (or any thread) and edit your post choosing to turn off email notification you should be able to once again regain control of your mailbox.

Hell... beating off to orgasm is last ditch approach - there's much more pleasureable ways to share the experience.

A notification thread? Cool! Okay, I will come right out and say what I want now.

Expertise, get down here and fuck me now!

Thumper, more pics, you're hot!
