Am I strange when it comes to making love?

I was going to call the thread "is there a such thing as too short?" but that sounded so wrong because size wise there is such a thing, I know that from personal experience. But to the point...

I hear these people talking about making love for hours, I even hear guys bragging about it. What I don't get is hour making love for 3 hours can still remain pleasureable, to me I just can't see it.

I love my hubby to death, every time we do something together we get awesome results. However at the same time the most it usually takes is 45 minutes to an hour, that's the whole process including him pleasuring me before hand. In fact some of the shorter times have been the most incredible, to me it only sounds strange when comparing it to what others say.

I find the longer we go the less pleasure it is, I'm not sure if it's just me or what. I mean I can wait a few hours, usually quite a few and then I'm ready to go and so is he.

Also another strange thing is I have multiple orgasms when we make love, he never has. Yet at the same time when I pleasure him there has been more than once that he has. I'm not sure what to make of this, sometimes I feel bad that when we make love he only finishes once, sometimes I really want him to but he just can't finish more than that no matter how many times I do...

Is it strange to not want to make love for hours on end?

Am I the only one to feel this way?

It's actually the norm. I've heard from a number of medical sources that most women prefer sex to be shorter (at least the intercourse portion). The number I've heard the most was 10-20 minutes. I'm lucky that I found one of the unusual ones. I love having sex for a long time. We've only been together 4 times, but have already gone over 3 hours in a single session (including foreplay and other fun stuff ). I could go down on her alone for as much as an hour...I love giving her pleasure and she is more than happy to oblige.

As far as I know (forgive me if I sound like a stupid guy), it has to do with lubrication. Most women start feeling uncomfortable after a moderate amount of time. It was always my experience with women before Kiten. She warned me before I met her about her 'issues'. When I met her at the airport for the first time, she was wearing a skirt with no panties. When I squeezed her ass through the skirt and kissed her, she hissed that we had to go because it was running down her leg. I think people (some people) fudge a bit on what they consider "sex." As Imp describes, a person might include all kinds of foreplay, snuggling, kissing, wooing. To some people, the whole evening, from stroking each other in the car, playing footsy at dinner, feeding each other dessert, strip-tease in the bedroom...up till orgasm is the sex. And that can certainly run 3 hours.

Which isn't to say that others can't fuck for that long--which I think is pretty much what you mean, the part where where people really get down and dirty, giving oral and other types of stimulation, including intercourse, for hours. Most folk, no, do not go on for hours. Women lose lubrication or even sensation, men flag--or just have to shoot and find that they're done. People get tired, go to sleep, hurt themselves even ("Ow! My eye!"). And, of course, there's "real life"--job, kids, and the like.

Hormones go down and brains turn back on. Hey, it happens, and more commonly, I think, than those who want to spend the entire weekend stimulating each other. Normally, I enjoy long sessions, because I'm multi-orgasmic. The longer he can hold out, the more orgasms I have time to get! Ditto. The only times I've 'fucked all night' (or all day) have been when first "in love", but even then it was never a non-stop-fuck-fest. My husband and I love to talk (even just silly chatter) while playing around, but sometimes we don't say a word and it's a great 15, 20, 30 or so minutes.
