Am I stepping over the line?

Hi. I'm new and my name's Goodboy (though that name was taken, so I'm actually GoodBoy741).

I found CHYOO a few days ago through a post on the mcstories forum. I've posted several stories there about mind control and wishing, so the Absolute Power story stuck out to me as a good fit.

I've added more threads to Absolute Power in a week than any other author has in the four and a half years of its existence. Seriously, I've counted them up, and I've added 40 threads in just a few days. I'm definitely slowing down, but there are still more I want to add.

Am I overwhelming the story? I don't own the story, but I seem to be dominating some areas of it. That seems impolite.

I don't have a good answer to that one, and I'm the editor. You certainly seem to be enjoying yourself, but I also acknowledge that a large part of the fun of CHYOO is coming up with ideas and seeing how other people react to them. "Absolute Power" is a popular story, but (aside from you) there haven't been many submissions in the last three years.

It helps that your threads are about the right length and are easy to read. I've read a few stories that started with introductions that were so huge, I'm sure few people had invested the time to read through them.

An example of a too-long thread:

My best advice (optional) is to either spread your threads out in various areas to fish for responses or to go long and try to create endings/resolutions.

I don't mind all the extra attention, although I'm not always able to give decent comments to them.

I'd only worry if your taking every possible thread option from someone else's post. For example if someone has a post with a max of four threads, and you take all four threads for yourself, that may be a bit much.

I'd say post until you get rejected! Try to find an author whose work you like and work with him/her as well.

As a rule of thumb creators and editors are very protective, so if you do cross a line on their stories, they will let you know. Feel free to write what you like, but also listen to them for any advise or critique they may give it is rarely unwise to do so. Otherwise kept it up until you need glasses.

Maybe, but that first page is a short story all in itself. When I'm in the mood for a short story, I don't go to CHYOO.

I think there is no line to cross. Feel free to write 40 threads for any story of mine and I will welcome the input. I have been so busy with work that I have not done a thing on them in months.

Thanx to GoodBoy741 for the great selection of threads added to 'my' part of 'Back of the Bus'. He's a great writer! Now if only I can get the chance to add on to them..

I must also deeply thank GoodBoy741 for the large volume of very, very good threads he's added to "Weekend at an All Girls Dorm". I've hit a creative dry spell, so I owe hime quite a few threads in return, as I do quite a few others, (Gunde, Moonblack, Wicker, Zingiber)

Keep 'em coming, GoodBoy741! and thanks.

Thanks, imhotep.

If it helps creativity, you could make the threads you owe me be extra options to my threads in Weekend instead of in my stories. I'd honestly like that just as much.
