I keep intending to take part in AH discussions when I'm not selfishly pursuing advice. However, real life keeps getting in the damn way. You were all very helpful when I was looking for advice about my first story (now published as Elisabeth and the Infanta, and I'd love to know what any of you think, though that isn't the reason for this post!), so I thought I'd throw myself upon your collective tender mercies once again.

I'd like to write a story about two people who meet at work, fall in love/lust, and end up, inevitably, in bed. All fine and dandy so far. However, I'd like them to have known each other way back in junior school, and not to have met for ten plus years. The guy was in love with the girl as a child, though she did not reciprocate.

I'm just concerned about the "paedophile rules" on lit. Obviously, I don't want this to be a story about shagging a child. Just about innocent child love rekindled unexpectedly, by consenting adults, in an entirely different (non-innocent) way. In my own head, that's a legitimate distinction, but I'm not sure how the censors would see it. Thoughts?

No worries, Mate. What they worry about here on Lit. is below 18 sex, not below 18 love. All you have to avoid is anyone under 18 participating in or viewing sex. If you ain't got any of that then you're good to go, baby. :D

What she said.
Go for it.
Good luck.
