Alt.com mirror site?

How do other Alt users feel about the duplicate website? Does it bother you to be a subscribed member of something you never consented to?

Personally, I would rather be associated with the label of just being "alternative" than the presumptious undertones a title like "localbdsmpersonals.com" seems to imply. At least "Alt" is a little more general and leaves room for us less kinky members who may be more into finding an emotionally dominant or submissive partner than engaging in random caning sessions and 3-ways.

What is your take? Do you think such added exposure is a good thing regardless of title, because now more people might cum across your profile? Are you comfortable with the idea of your name and password being submitted to mirror site? I'm not sure if I should feel betrayed or not. If there had been mention of it on the homepage or someone had asked me first, maybe it would sit better.

I have always liked it too, hence why I am torn. It is one of the better ones out there by comparison. I even met a really wonderful man of whom I maintained one of the most loving relationships and closest friendships I had ever encountered. Even though it never worked out, it is something that I will always be grateful to Alt for.

The url is localbdsmpersonals.com. Your name and password will be the same as your current Alt one, and you will notice your mailbox and other info will already be there. I'm not positive on this, but I have a feeling deletion of this account may result in deletion of your other account since they seem to be connected.

I don't have a problem with the way they list things, althought I nevere really thougth about it until now. I think you are right about the more general title though, It does leave you more latitude in being able to do what you want rather than being pigeon-holed.

Hey, I didn't know either until the other day when instead of recieving the usual "you have new messages on Alt.com" alert in my hotmail, I recieved a "you have new messages on localbdsmpersonals.com" alert.

F's take on it is Alt has bought the new site, using the existing Alt profiles to give it a headstart in relation to other competitors. I have had it happen before with smaller sites.

Heh. I assumed they did it just for the sake of more exposure on the search engines and such. Never considered it might be a site that was bought out. Either way, I'm not sure if they are breaking the law.
