Okay, I don't have a well defined story idea, but I just came back from my favorite club where there was a gorgeous hot lithe beautiful woman with her boyfriend and I was thinking about a story in terms of an ultra Alpha Male just taking a woman away from her man.

Yes, it is a mysoginistic sort of tale, where the woman is no more than property, but I can't help be get hard at the idea of being the superior man, confronting her boyfriend and just taking her.

The key questions here:
1. At what level is this erotic for guys?
2. At what level is this erotic for women?
and 3. Does this necessarily turn into a BDSM scene or can it remain vanilla?

I'm not sure there's any real answer to "At what level is this erotic for [a whole gender]?" Any story idea will appeal to less than half of all the readers in the world, just because people have such a wide variety of interests. That's normal.

But, it's a fact that the idea of the 'alpha male' is a staple of romance novels (mostly written by women for women, and many romance novels have an erotic element to them). I'm not sure that idea of an alpha male is really the same as your idea. In a romance novel, typically the alpha male is tall, broad-shouldered, a leader or other powerful person (often he's a prince, a military commander, a CEO, a millionaire, or sometimes he's more than human because he has the abilities of a werewolf, vampire, mage, or alien). The part that might not be compatible is, it's central to the idea of the romance novel that this alpha male falls in love with the woman and wants to protect her and marry her and have her bear his heirs, etc. If she's with a milksop guy at the beginning of the story, usually that guy is wrong for her in some way, not someone she's happy being with.

There's also a small but definite group of men who really like cuckolding stories, usually picturing themselves as the one being cuckolded. In this type of story usually a woman who is practical and a bit of a prude with her boyfriend or husband goes wild when under the influence of an alpha male. There's usually a mild bdsm theme here - maybe she's never been willing to suck a cock but he makes her do it and like it, maybe she doesn't want to get pregnant but he makes her not use protection until she does get pregnant, maybe he talks dirty to her by fondly calling her a slut and a whore, and she of her own volition will do domestic acts of servitude for him like cooking and cleaning that she wouldn't normally want to do for her boyfriend/husband. Basically the alpha male converts her from a real woman into a sexual fantasy of a woman. Sometimes it's a straight voyeuristic/humiliation fantasy on the bf/husband's part, or sometimes it's a bisexual fantasy and he too is made to submit, he and his girl serving the alpha male together.

Your idea is from the opposite perspective, but it probably has a lot in common with cuckolding stories because the story can be told from any/all of the points of view of the three people involved. You could try reading that type of story as research.

The answer to questions 1 and 2 are likely in conflict with each other.

To appease number 1, the only way is cuckold. Men who don't like cuckold, do not find having their woman stolen erotic.

Number 2, the current BF/hubby has to be somewhat of a douche and the Alpha male has to be genuinely having affection for her and his move will be in a sense "rescuing" her from her man.

But, you said it's mysoginistic and the woman is nothing more than property, thus, you lost the majority of female audience right there, so back to number one, or number three, or both.

Someone pointed out to me yesterday that this storyline is the underlying element to the movie Shane. Shane rides to town, the man of the family can't protect his family, Shane does, there is a moment where he could have taken the wife for his own, but doesn't and rides off with the little boy chasing after him.

My point is, this isn't a rare story element and was also pointed out, tends to be in most romance novels (I've only ever read a few and of those they tended to be vampire ghost werewolf focused).

I've never been a fan of the cuckold genre as a concept because all the stories from that genre I read are about the humiliation of the husband, but at the end the wife stays with the husband. I'll read through more of them to see what sorts of variations arise and see if it is ever told from the POV of the alpha male.

3 it only turns into a BDSM scene if they get into BDSM in it. Nothing in what you've described goes into any detail about the sex.

2. chick meets Hung Stud
3. chick humps Hung Stud, creams her brains out
4. husband watches/discovers/is tied down and forced to clean up after this
5. husband discovers he really likes that
6. they live happily ever after, with a steady supply of Hung Stud

In this story, it seems to go

1. Hung Stud sees hot chick with other guy
2. Hung Stud literally or figuratively kick's other guys ass
3. chick humps Hung Stud, creams her brains out
4. they live happily ever after (without other guy)

You can do a 3 part sequel where the Hung Stud's nephew has to throw the chick into the crack of doom, while all her old boyfriends are stalking her.

Almost never told from Alpha male's POV, which would make it interesting. Secondly, they don't have to focus on the humiliation of the hubby - most prefer the focus to be on the sluttiness and or sexual neediness of the wife - although having ones girl taken away is humiliation in and of itself by most standards.

The taking of the wife is the point of where the humiliation ends. A real alpha male wouldn't play the role of exhibitionist for a weak and ineffectual competitor. And for the purposes I'm exploring, it has to be the Alpha Male's "pure essence of man" that gets the woman, not her sluttiness. That is why I asked if this has to turn into some BDSM scene of a woman in servitude... I really don't want it to go that way, just this realization she was with a beta male when she could be with an alpha male.

Sort of thinking in terms of the World's Most Interesting Man... or the Old Spice Guy... lol

The value is in the comparison of Alpha Male behavior versus a timid beta male. The alpha male would have no reason to demonstrate his superiority by fucking the woman in front of the beta male. It is just an act of 'taking'.

There are actually a few foreign films that are sort of like this. The Blood Oranges being the prime example I've run across.

Because I was unsure if it had the proper erotic quality. Since it would be told from the male point of view, just couldn't determine if anyone else besides me would get off on this concept.
