Alone on Christmas Eve.

Hang in there men, it will all be over soon enough. I just can't wait until then.

Me either. Christmas is becoming just another day to me.

Ba Humbug

Do you have a reason that it is just another day? Are you like me and was all Christmased out back before Thanksgiving?

I have been alone for several years now.

I have been divorced for over 10 years and my kids want to spend time with their mother.

Oh well, it will be over soon.

True, I guess this is what I get for being gone on the holidays so much when I was in the service.

I don't think so. My family has been there and done that one. Doing it now as a matter of fact. One of the reasons that I am alone this evening.

I did it for 25 years. It does get better. I just wished that more people would understand what the military goes through just to maintain the peace and such.

What branch of the military? I was Air Force.

You have to have the ground pounders. They are the only ones that can take real estate. Fly boys like me, just bomb to the stone age.:)

Yes it does. Anything to help you ground pounders out.

Afterall we are one team.

So they keep telling us....but there are times these days with the things that I hear, that truly make me wonder.

I agree and it is usually with the generals in the Pentagon that have forgot that we are all on the same side.

Glad I only did a 2 year tour in the Pentagon. Never so happy to leave a place in my life, well except maybe for Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE.

Funny my brother said the same thing about the Pentagon. He didn't like it either.

The Pentagon is out of touch with the rest of the military. To much empire building going on there.

I got the feeling from talking with him that you just hit the nail on the head. I personally never did time there so I wouldn't know other than just what I hear.

When I went to the Pentagon I thought that I was helping my career. But, looking back on it, I think I actually did more harm than good. I pissed off to many people while I was there.

It took me longer to make O-5 than it should have, but I made it in spite of them.

Now you sound like most of the people that I know. I guess I like people that don't tend to do things "by the book" or to just blindly follow orders.

Just because I was in the Air Force does not mean that I did everything that they told me to do.

I probably would still be in if I could of kept my mouth shut for a little longer. But, that is another story for another place.
