Sorry...just thought I would take a small amount of space and let my pride shine through...did not mean to offend....:D

Worth far more than gold...........

Having some time on my hands, being unemployed and all, I watched a lot of the Olympics. From the opening ceremonies to the (Awesome!!) closing ceremonies, I thought a lot about what it means to be a Canadian. Self depreciating humour, a certain fixation on beer, beavers, moose and Mounties, and ownership of the only true religions on the planet....hockey and curling....okay, the women's curling team let another country rent it for a while...very Canadian if I may say...then what did Joannie Rochette's performance in figure skating, winning bronze after her mother's sudden death only a week earlier have to do with being Canadian? Nothing.....she kept on going when her heart was broken because she knew...absolutely knew, that it was what her mother would have wanted.

Fourteen gold medals for Canada.................golden..
Joannie Rochette skating for Canada............priceless!!

Congrats to both Men's and Women's Canadian hockey teams.....they played well and hard and won......now bite me.....

My only question was why was the IOC bitching about the female Canadians smoking cigars and drinking champagne on the ice after their gold medal win? No one else was there and they sure as shit deserved to celebrate.

The IOC has always been made up of spoilsports. :( That might not be the right word. Maybe I should call them wet blankets.
