Has anyone out there ever had an allergic reaction, like burning to semen? I sometimes have this problem with my bf but it goes away after a couple of minutes.

Not a burning sensation but when my partner swallows it's nausea, upset stomach and diarrhea so allergic reactions are not unusual. So swallowing is out in our house :( I have read about burning sensations from others but I don't know how unusual that particular symptom is.

I've also heard of semen allergies, but usually in relation to food allergies. Let's say you're allergic to nuts, bf eats nuts, and whatever it is that comes out in semen (enzymes? proteins?) would then cause a reaction once you're exposed.

That I can believe. I'm allergic to pineapple, I break out in a horrible rash. Pineapple is the only thing that causes that rash, and it always seems like when he eats pineapple and we have sex, I end up with a rash. And he thinks I'm crazy...

I wouldn't say I have an allergy, but I'm definitely intolerant to it. If I haven't been exposed on a regular basis, I get itching, burning and an off smell until it clears out of my vagina.

However, this goes away the more we have unprotected sex. It usually takes 3-7 days for me to get used to it, and then I'm totally fine with it.

I'm not sure what causes it, and I've never asked a doc since it's always gone away on its own. I'm guessing my pussy is just sensitive about foreign substances, and it takes more time for it to adjust its own chemistry.

My mother had to stop breastfeeding when she had a son that was allergic to milk. He reacted with bad rashes whenever she drank milk. She had to switch to soy milk for the duration of his nursing time.

You're not crazy.

It goes through the body. It comes out in bodily fluids. No blowjobs for him unless he hasn't eaten pineapple. It's that simple. :) You say it's not that bad, and it's because it gets dilluted, but it's still something you're allergic to...

It may be that pineapple isn't the only thing you're allergic to, an allergy/intolerance test might help you to identify what your bf should and shouldn't eat if he expects you to swallow.

Also, be aware that if he is dehydrated and produces less ejaculate, it's going to have a higher concentration of allergens in it.

If pineapple is the only thing you're sensitive too it shouldn't be a big deal for him to cut it out permanently.

I do not doubt that you have allergies and that they may be causing you trouble but I think you're overlooking something simple:

You just had his (hopefully) large member inside you for several minutes, rubbing back and forth against the most sensitive areas of your body. There is bound to be some irritation there, especially if you're not as moist as you could be.

Try some lube. See if that helps. Taking turns to lube each other up can be fun too!

Also, don't forget that sex is one of the messiest things that humans do. (If they do it right! ;) )
Far be it from me to imply that you are not clean but I suggest you experiment with being EXTRA clean. I take a shower at least once a day. Sometimes TWICE. But humans naturally sweat throughout the day even if we don't notice it.. The water evaporates as fast as we excrete it but the salts are still left behind on the skin. After a whole day of living your daily life there can be a fair amount of dried up sweat on your skin but you don't even know it.

That sweat and the dirt from daily living is now getting rubbed inside your afformentioned sensitive places too! This could be another source of irritation for you.

Taking a bath or shower togeter is another fun thing you can try. Take turns washing each other then drying each other. Make sure HE is squeaky-clean too.

Then take him into the bedroom and do your thing. See if these ideas don't improve your situation... At least a LITTLE bit!

None of those things have ever improved my reaction to Hubby's semen at all.

It does seem to make a difference if he's fully hydrated, and the article posted mentioned that dehydration can make the reaction worse. Hydration doesn't solve it, but it decreases the symptoms noticeably.

It sounds likes a sudden shift in pH to me. Normally the vagina likes to maintain a pH between 3.8 and 4.5, which is moderately acidic. Then semen is introduced into the vaginal canal which has a pH between 7.2 and 8.0, which is normal to slightly alkaline.

In chemistry terms these are fairly large variations in the pH scale. In the human body there are buffer systems in place to cope with and merge these collisions together. In other words, most people never experience any side effects from the two sides of the pH scale coming together. However, just as their are individuals with really sensitive skin, its stands to reason that some individuals might experience some minor irritation from this process.

If it las more than a few minutes and cool water doesn't ease the discomfort, then I would talk with your OB/GYN.

Have a great weekend!

Never meant to imply that what you say isn't true. But, when solving problems, I was always taught to eliminate the simple answers first. That's all I wanted to say... Check the simple things first. :)

I would say it's either the pineapple or cum, i have heard of allergies and the only solution is condoms, let's hope you're not allergic to them. However, it could also be from the actual sex itself being too rough oor a uti.

It's probably something dietary, when I had a cold and was on a three-day orange juice and satsuma binge my lady had to run into the bathroom after I came because it burned so much from the extra citric acid.
