I submitted a new story Thursday (Teacher's Pet 8, and against my better judgement).

And another one Friday.

I submitted the one Thursday by Word .doc attachment...

And the one Friday by cut-and-paste.

It's Monday, and neither submission has been viewed once. Aren't they usually viewed right away, especially the cut and paste ones? Why why why haven't they been viewed yet? Am I being too impatient?

*twitch*

I submitted a new story recently and it took about two days to get a view, and 7 days to post. I did the copy-and-paste method to upload. After it posted, the story had several votes, but still only listed 1 view. I'm guessing the views aren't necessarily synched to real-time.

Relax, grasshopper, and trust in the fullness of time...

It always takes just a little longer than you think is reasonable UNLESS you have made a bad error in the text. Then it gets posted before you can correct it.

Depending on HOW you preview, you can move it back to the end of the queue and start waiting all over again.

 Screw that.

Not that I have more than a few posted, I have had one rejected and it has always seemed like Christmas waiting for the process to grind along and then to see the work posted.

What I find more a bummer is the phenomonon wherein a story will hit the list with a red "H" soon after it is approved, but then it noses over and slowly drifts downward. Do the "good" reviews come first and then the more critical reviews follow?

It would seem to me that when the new stories are posted, the first voters would be partial to the category you posted in. Meaning the people who like incest would find those stories first, then read them all, and most likely vote higher because it fits well with their tastes. Then they might move on to other sotires afterward, ones in other categories that they don't enjoy so much, and hence the scores they offer become lower as time progresses.

Of course, I don't actually know...

Oay, now I am just bloody confused!

On the new Teacher's Pet submission, where it usually says "Awaiting Approval", it now shows tomorrow's date -- except still no views and it still says pending. So the date is saying that it was approved tomorrow, when it in fact has not yet been reviewed, but then when it's tomorrow will yesterday still be today?

...er...

yeah. See how confused I am? :(

That means your story will post tomorrow, or rather, around midnight tonight (or whatever time they update with the next day's stories). That's how it worked with the one I submitted a couple weeks ago. The pending date shows up, and the story is posted on that date. It says pending up until it posts.

Won't be long now. :)

I don't think that happens anymore. Once you submit it, you can't preview it. They changed things a bit.
