down south we're fine - big winds yesterday into the night with storm desmond kicking up his heels, but carlisle/cumbria taking the biggest hit so far, and scotland still in trouble. cumbria's announced a major incident as massive flooding has occurred. something like almost 200 flood warnings in place, 60 of those at the severest level = threat to life. thousands of homes are without electricity, and those homes that the water has drained from have been left with feet of silt.

That's scary, they must be getting lots of down pours. Hopefully the rain will let up.

Marco Petagna, senior forecaster at the Met Office, said some areas had received a month's worth of rain in the last 24 hours.

The village of Shap, in Cumbria, received the most rain, with 178mm falling in the 24 hours until 19:00 GMT on Saturday, while Keswick was hit with 156mm. The average rainfall for Cumbria for the month of December is 146.1mm, the Met Office added.

Mr Petagna warned another 100mm of rain could still fall in the Lake District in the following 12 hours.

Cumbria was among the worst affected by the onslaught, with the village of Braithwaite becoming completely cut off when its main bridge, the Coledale High Bridge, collapsed as the river burst its banks.

In Carlisle, flood levels continued to rise and helicopters carried out rescue missions overnight as cars became almost entirely submerged. Military forces have been called in to help evacuate people who wish to move, including elderly people, pets and families with babies.

The British Red Cross teams set up rest centres in Keswick, Appleby and Kendal, while medical groups issued an urgent call to draft in extra doctors amid fears the storm could cause casualties.

Adrian Holme, from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, told the BBC the flood was "unprecedented" and "exceptionally challenging" as more than 100 people were evacuated from Keswick.

He said it was "absolutely devastating", adding: "The flood defences that were built here in 2012 haven't been breached, they have been over-topped. We have had 24 hours of constant rain."

over 55,000 homes without power.

This is not the time of year someone needs to be without power or heat, hope it stops quick!

So far where I am, all we've had is a bit of drizzle and some crazy wind.
I can't imagine it flooding here, but I guess it's possible if it rains enough.

Was shagging the arse, literally, off some slapper in Nottingham, when I felt a shudder, assuming it to be this wretched weather. However, it appears she was having a mind blowing orgasm over my huge cock to the sound Babooshka in the background. She's addicted to anal sex now. And to think she'd never tried it in 50 years. Wow eh?
