The smells and sights were all too familiar for her after all this time. It was good to be home! Dressed in a black tank top, jeans and her signature yellow duster, Jubilation Lee stood at the entrance to the old school. It had been almost 8 years since they had brought her here after rescuing her ass. The Professor had been an important part of her life and her experience with the X-Men had given her a sense of family. After all this time, she knew it was time to come back. There was a girlish squeal and suddenly she was enveloped in the arms of Ororo. "Storm! God, I have missed you!"

The regal female smiled down at her. "It is good to see you again too." She looked Jubilee up and down, regarding the changes she obviously had gone through. "You've grown up on us." Then Jubilee popped the bubble gum in her mouth, making Ororo laugh. "Some things never change." There was a small noise of a baby gooing which made the older woman's brows raise. This would take some explaining, she thought. "Ororo?" Jubilee lifted the baby boy from his carrier. "This is Shogo Lee. My adopted son."

The baby in her arms was about a year old with bright blue eyes and auburn curls blossoming on top of his head. "It's a long story but he's mine." The day Jubilee had rescued the small bundle in a meteor shower in Hungary had been a changing time in her life. That was around the time that she decided it was time to stop fooling herself when it came to him. Every guy that had entered her life always ended up being compared to him. The long ago crush she had was no longer the childish infatuation but the adult's devotion and desire. She wanted him, needed him, so badly that she had begun to dream of him.

"He's adorable, Jubilee. May I?" Ororo gestured for the baby and Shogo eagerly went to the woman. He had always been an excellent judge of character to the point that she wondered if he was some kind of empath. One of the other students helped her with the bags while Jubilee carried his carrier. They were set up in a two-bedroom suite that contained a nursery which was great. The two women put him down for a nap after the long trip there and Jubilee dressed in her bikini for a refreshing swim. Some of the others were already down there so she would able to saw hello.

Jubilee carried a baby monitor receiver in the small bag that contained a towel and her sun tan lotion. Her bikini was a dark pink and emphasized the round breasts that had bloomed as soon as she had hit her 20s. Part of her wondered if Logan was there, the one man she had come back for. She walked confidently to the pool, watching in amusement as Rogue backslapped Remy for staring. The Cajun never could contain his naturally flirtatious nature.

Logan had missed the arrival of Jubilee. When everyone was inside greeting her, he was outside practicing with a katana blade. Everyday the man practiced with the blade as it brought him some measure of peace. A way to tame the beast and hold at bay those darker parts within. Sheathing the blade with a "schnk" he went inside through a side door that was close to him. Sweat beaded on his body and the grey tanktop clung to his person. All the man wore was that and a pair of simple black workout pants.

Avoiding the kitchen and patio area he had missed Jubilee's appearance at the pool too. Her scent was even rooms away. Grabbing a bottle of water he made his way into the entrance hall of the mansion. An odd mixed smell ran up his nose. Original flavored bubblegum, baby powder, and a particular soap and shampoo combo. Only one person had that smell, but the baby powder made him discredit the whole thing.

"Who brought the baby?" Logan asked the first student he spotted that wasn't Quentin Quire.

The student asked was a college aged with shocking blue hair that went down to her cheek bones shrugged. "Storm knew her. Had a coat and seemed to be old friends."

"Thanks," Logan replied trying to hide his annoyance. That could have been anyone. Xavier's Institute to mutants turned out a lot of people. Bonds between teacher and student weren't uncommon. Given Oro's tenure that could have been any number of people.

Dismissing the notion it was Jubilee Logan went up to his room. Putting away the weapon he debated on taking a shower. Anything with water always sounded good after a workout or mission. Seeing that the sun was still out and hearing the splashing from the pool Logan decided to go for a swim then shower whenever he would get in.

Putting on a pair of long black trunks that had white accent Logan head out toward the pool. On the way there he managed to snag some sunscreen and a towel. Healing factor made sunburns easier to deal with, but it didn't stop them from happening. Plus if he didn't take the sunblock someone would have lectured him about skin cancer or not leading by example. The last thing he ever wanted was a lecture.

Opening the patio he was just prepared for the usual sights. Barely legal students he could leer at, but never touch. First, he respected them too much. Second, Logan actually liked staying on Chuck's good side. Chuck would have kicked Logan out if the line between student and teacher was ever crossed. Still, the sights were nice.

Again the smell of bubblegum went up his nose. "The hell?" Logan asked himself quietly as he made it to gate of the pool. "Why the hell do I keep smellin' g-," he yelled out to Rogue before seeing Jubilee poolside interrupted him.

Smirking at his old friend he gave her a nod, "Hey kid." He had yet to notice the changes that had happened to her body during the eight year absence.

Jubilee sat with Rogue, talking about some of her experiences with the other team called Generation X. When the older girl's eyes diverted, she looked to see the one man she had dreamed of for years. He hadn't changed a bit over the years and it made her catch her breath. Logan was as handsome today as he was when she was 14 years old. Jubilee stood and gave him a tight hug, her soft body pressing into him.

"Hey, Wolvie." It had been such a long time since she felt those strong arms. He had held her during those times at night when she was still a young thing and the nightmares hit her. "It's good to see your tough old hind again." She giggled, still as bouncey and happy as she ever was. Rogue looked to Remy and gave him a knowing wink. They had seen the bond between them years ago. Now that Jubilee was a woman, things would get interesting.

"Looks like our lil bit has grown up quite a bit." Rogue smirked. Jubilee sat down to rub lotion onto her sun kissed skin, on her head were the shades she wore most of her life. They shielded her eyes whenever she released the highly fluorescent bursts of plasma from her hands. "De petite was telling us about a run in she had with de Sabretooth. Scary one, non?"

The older feral had attacked her and Angelo in efforts to gain some kind of information on a secret base that held a new mercenary group of mutants that were working against him and Magneto. "We managed to get away without any serious wounds. Emma had a serious cow when she found out." She referred to her old head mistress in Gen-X. The subject wasn't enough to keep her eyes from eating Logan up.

Remy was seriously enjoying the show. The little one was looking at Logan with an adult hunger that he had never seen in the girl's eyes before. As thick as Logan was, he'd not see it until it was almost too late.

Hugging Jubilee Logan was reminded of old times. All of the times he held Jubilee close after a mission was too close to comfort, a friend got injured or worse. Everything was like yesterday until those breasts pressed against his hairy chest. When she pulled away Logan looked to Rogue and Remy who thankfully spoke up. They were a distraction to keep him from staring at Jubilee's matured chest.

"It's good seein' the kid again," Logan said trying hard to slip back into the old role of teacher and student. Sabertooth came up and it was hard not to growl at Creed's name. The two mutants had a bloody history and that left Logan bitter. "He's a bastard. Kid's better than him hand down," the words came out through gritted teeth.

Emma's name came up and he paid attention. To be honest the blonde headmistress was indifferent to him. Good on the battlefield, but no matter what Scott said she was no Jean. Shame the redhead was still dead and buried.

His eyes glanced over Jubilee's things by the pool. Spotting the baby monitor he asked, "Who's the lucky guy? How come he didn't put a ring on it?" A protective edge came out in his voice with that last question. When they hugged Logan didn't feel any rings touch his skin from her hands or chest. This meant no one proposed to her.

Pushing back the protectiveness his gaze went to Jubilee's sunglasses. The gaze stayed on the reflective pink surface just to keep them from wandering. Rogue may not have noticed the intentional looks, but Gambit would have. A thief could tell when someone was staying focused on or away from a particular target.

With his gaze firm on Jubilee's lens covered face he asked, "Boy or girl? How old?" Jubilee as a mother? That was a hard pill to swallow. At least it was easier to deal with than Jubilee grown up and being sexual. Although if she had been anyone else Logan would have leered at her without hesitation.

The old nickname irked her temper a little. "I'm 22, Logan. Hardly a kid." After her experiences, Jubilee had aged beyond her years in many ways. The old nightmare memory of the day she was crucified by a mutant named Bastion. It had been nearly 8 months before Emma or the team knew she wasn't safely tucked away in California where she had initially been heading. There were faint scars on her hands from the old injury. A transfusion from Warren (Archangel) was the only thing that had saved her.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence. Who knew all it would take is a well placed kicked to his balls and the kitty was down for the count?" Rogue chuckled. Jubilee was nothing if not resourceful and Logan had taught her to fight dirty everytime she was painted into a corner.

The baby monitor buzzed a little from interference. Shogo was still sleeping peacefully as far as she could tell. The baby boy was a joy in her life. "Um...There is no guy, Logan." She could almost see the overprotectiveness rise in his eyes. "I found Shogo in Hungary. His parents were killed in that meteor shower. I adopted him." As if on cue, Ororo came walking out, holding the young boy.

"He woke up and was asking for you." Jubilee chuckled and took the slightly sleepy toddler from Storm. "Hey baby." Shogo cheered up, a big smile on his face for her. He looked from her to Logan, a curious look on his face. "Who dat?" The boy asked in a young voice. "Remember when Mommy told you about her best friend when she was a kid?" Those blue eyes were so wide and innocent. "Poovie?" He asked, trying his hand at the old nickname.

The others laughed which made the toddler giggle. "Wolvie, Shogo." The boy waved at him. "Hi, Poovie.." Remy couldn't restrain the grin on his face. The boy was absolutely darling. "Cookie, Mommy?" Jubilee went to look for one in her bag and handed the boy an animal cracker. "Just one, baby." Jubilee looked up to see the odd look on Logan's face.

"Everyone here can be a kid to me, kid," Logan said using that nickname like a weapon to keep his eyes from wandering, and his mind from wondering. From the brief hug he could tell that she was no longer a kid. His mind wondered why Kitty and Rogue didn't cause similar problems in the past. Pushing that thought away Logan figured there was no problem with him and Jubilee.

Hearing of the victory against Sabertooth thanks to a kick caused Logan to smirk. A real fight didn't hold any honor. People were going to be mean and dirty. Anyone Logan taught to fight were taught how to fight dirty. He was a realist like that.

Jubilee explained how she found Shogo. An eyebrow rose up. They shared a parallel when it came to children. Logan's daughter Amiko had similar circumstances. She was Mariko's daughter. When his former lover died he eventually tracked down the young girl. Seeing the abysmal conditions she lived in Logan was the ninja young Amiko prayed for. He liberated her from such a life.

Their relationship wasn't typical. Visits were often made, but Amiko was kept in the care of trusted allies given his commitment to the X-men. At the time she wasn't allowed to attend the school for her safety. Now that Amiko was an adult no one could have legally stopped her from going stateside.

"If ya ever need a sitter, Amiko could watch him for ya," Logan offered as the "Povie" names drew the amusement from others. Seeing Jubilee stand there as a woman with a son practically made the gears in his head come grinding to a halt.

"Lookin' good kid," Logan said with an approving nod taking one quick look at her. Abruptly he pulled himself away and jumped in the pool. At least the pool could have cooled him off. Hopefully.

Jubilee wanted to retort that she had aged more than anyone could see but she didn't want to bring up painful memories. Rogue looked painfully at the child, a sadness in her eyes. Remy clutched her gloved hand and kissed it. Her mutant abilities had robbed her of so much, especially the chance to become a mother. It was good to see Logan smile even if it was just that small smirk.

"She might have to get in line, Logan. Ororo has become a bit attached already." Shogo laughed as the older woman made a goofy face at her. "Ro ro." The others awed at his attempt at Storm's name. It never amazed Jubilee how he always pulled people together. The child had saved her just as much as she had saved him.

She nodded back at Logan, not letting him see the pure emotion in her eyes as he walked away. It was so hard to not just give in and tell him how she felt. She knew Logan and how he would react. They had shared a teacher/student relationship and even become best friends, he wouldn't take the transition without a fight.

Remy wanted to cuss when he saw the pain in the woman's eyes. He hated to see a beautiful woman upset. "You came back for more than a visit, eh, petite?" Jubilee blushed. She could never get anything past Gambit and his perceptive eye. "Something like that." She was in love and with her best friend. How she would get him to really see her was a mystery.

"What do we have here?" The cheerful voice of Bobby Drake made Jubilee jump. "Hey, luscious." He leered at Jubilee in a way that he had never done before. Bobby did have a legitamite interest in Jubilee but he also wanted to ruffle Logan's fur a bit. He was always so protective of the girl. "Who's this cutie? Hey, lil man, give me five." Shogo slammed a tiny fist into his palm.

Remy could see what the Iceman was doing. He just hoped he was ready for ire he was going to bring down onto himself. Jubilee had to admit that her old friend had blossomed in his own right. Where he had once been scrawny, Bobby had built up some muscle. He was attractive but he still wasn't Logan.

Rogue's pained looks went unnoticed. Even Jubilee talking about the rapport Sho Go had with Oro went unheard. Logan was too busy swimming through the water. Water ran down the mutants body as he rose up to the surface. The hair became matted down, and muscles glistened as the sun accented the water all over him.

What he caught was Bobby's leers. All of the attention the young mutant was giving Jubilee and the kid. Anger bubbled in Logan as he pulled himself out of the pool. Slicking back his hair he walked toward the group. "S'cuse me," he said to them.

With enough distance between Sho Go and Bobby, Logan suddenly "bumped" Bobby hard. Everyone at the pool, except for the newer students, could tell that was no accident. If anything it looked like a well placed shoulder thrust or block.

Seeing Bobby fall to the ground made Logan smile inwardly, "Didn't see ya there Bobby. Someone help him up," he walked away from the pool. "Gotta learn how to keep it up, Frosty." Yes, he was taking digs at Bobby.

Walking away from the group anyone could see Logan's muscles. Any looks given to him went unnoticed, but Logan paused feeling someone's eyes on him. Turning back he looked at the group examining all of them carefully. Even Jubilee was examined this way. Anything that went unnoticed before may have been seen this time.

Jubilee tried her best not to drool at the sight of a drench Logan. The temptation to lick the dripping water from his skin was clawing at her. Her eyes widened at Logan's actions. Bobby just chuckled, not letting it get to him. "No harm no foul, furball." The dig only made him smile wickedly. "Oh I keep it up fine." He winked down at Jubilee. "Maybe you can find out first hand?"

Remy nearly choked on his lemonade and Rogue patted him on the back. "Funny man, mommy." She was too busy staring at Logan to hear the comment. Was that jealousy she saw in his eyes? Maybe it was just wishful thinking. "Hot, mommy." Bobby smiled at the child and used his power to offer a small breeze onto the child. Shogo just giggled. "Sit with me at dinner, Jubes."

Bobby got up and ran to the pool, his massive cannonball drenching some of the girls next to the pool. He just lived to stir up trouble. "Ok, baby. Let's go inside. It's time for you to meet the professor." Shogo jumped in her arms. "Wheels." That caught all three people by surprise. "Chere, he ever see the Prof before?" Jubilee shook her head. More and more, Shogo was showing signs of some kind of telepathic ability.

Jubilee took him upstairs to dress him in something cooler and to put her jeans back on. When the small child finally saw the Professor, it was like they already knew each other. She hugged Xavier, happy to see her mentor again. "Hello child. You have grown up and become a parent. So many changes." In his eyes she could see that all knowing mind. There was no hiding anything from Xavier, ever.

"It's been hectic but I can't say I have any regrets...well maybe one." Charles knew what she spoke of. He had watched the juvenile admiration bloom into something more. It was there in her eyes and her mind. "Hungy, mommy." Charles laughed. "Ororo cooked for us tonight, something special. Roast beef, your favorite if I remember." She smirked and they both headed for the dining room.

Her long black hair was in a long braid over her shoulder. It kept her wily son from pulling her hair. Bobby bounded up to them with the high chair for the baby. "Hey champ!" Once Shogo was secure in the chair, Bobby pulled out one for Jubilee. "My lady." She giggled. "Thank you, sir." He sat next to them, made a few goofy faces at the toddler to make him laugh.

Pretending he didn't hear some of Bobby's comments kept Logan from going after the ice wielding mutant. Returning to his room Logan peeled off the wet shorts and went to shower. Pushing aside the day's event so far he just focused on cleaning himself.

Stepping out of the shower he dried himself off. Putting on a black tank top, a pair of blue jeans, his old black and yellow X-men coat, and a pair of cowboy boots he began to head downstairs. Heavy boots made clunking noises as he was downstairs.

"Excuse me Jubliation," the Professor said to the young mutant. "Young Sho Go will want to try the roast beef. I'm sure he'll like it." Wheeling himself down the hallway he went for the front door where Logan was at.

"Logan. Where are you going?" the Professor asked.

Shooting the founder of the school a look Logan responded, "Out fer a brew. I'll be back." A hand went for the door. Silence settled between the pair as Xavier opened up mental communication.

"You know she came back here to visit everyone. That includes you Logan," Xavier gave a look to his old friend.

Rolling his eyes Logan responded in his mind, "I know. It was just a brew."

"You can't let Bobby get to you Logan. I know you want to keep Jubilee safe, but she is a grown woman now. She is free to make her own choices."

"Hey, if she wants to screw him she can go right ahead. I just don't wanna have to hurt him. Y'know after every time he gets dumped boy goes out n' chases any skirt he wants. Don't want to harm him if Jubilee becomes another notch in his bedpost," Logan's eyes narrowed as these thoughts were shared.

Smiling Xavier retorted, "Then sit at dinner and keep him in line," Xavier cut the connection. The smile continued as he said, "I can even ask Jubilee to get you your favorite brew." Logan had a case of German beer in the fridge. It was Krombacher, a pilsner. Sure he liked the Canadian stuff, but Germany made liquid bread in a brown bottle. Jubilee would have known his tastes.

Logan moved to the kitchen looking fairly annoyed. Words went unsaid to Jubilee, but he ruffled Sho Go's hair while passing the pair. Sitting down at the dinner table Logan gave Bobby a look that was so icy even Bobby would have had a shiver run down his spine.

Jubilee looked around for Logan but he wasn't down yet. "You're right, I will get him some. Watch him a minute, Bobby." The iceman picked up with playing with the toddler. She served up a bit of food for her son, waiting for it to cool. Logan's cool demeanor was worrying her. The warm relationship seemed to become distant. She brought the food to the table with some of her own.

Remy and Rogue came down together as per their usual habit. They sat together at the table, both smiling at the young boy and his mother. The Cajun wondered if the iceman had bitten out more than he could chew. Shogo giggled as Logan ruffled his hair. It warmed her heart to see him at least trying to be nice with her son.

His icy glare did nothing to warn off Bobby. In fact, it urged him on in his plans. Charles rolled into the room with a warm smile foe Shogo. "Jubilee, could you fetch a beer for Logan?" She didn't mind and actually grabbed one for herself as well. Popping the tops off both the longnecks, she handed one to Logan. Ororo handed a plate to Bobby, who kissed her hand in gratitude.

As soon as she sat back down, Bobby turned in the charm. He made no secret of staring at her firm backside when Jubilee leaned over to clean Shogo's chin. "So Jubes, maybe you and I could go watch a movie in my room. Might be fun, you and me, cuddled in the dark." His hand came down onto her thigh and her face blushed a severe red.

Jubilee took a long swig of the beer. She hadn't counted on the attention from anyone but Logan. She fed Shogo another bite of food. The young toddler took a chunk of the meat and shot it at Logan, hitting him squarly on the nose. He clapped his hands and giggled loudly. "Poovie! Poovie!" Bobby pointed and chuckled while his hand traveled further up her thigh.

Logan gave Jubilee a look. It wasn't for drinking the beer. Far from it. He remembered sneaking her a beer a few days before leaving. No one took his beer without asking him. Not even Jean got away with that one. His eyes remained on the young woman. Was she deliberately getting him riled up? The anger dissipated slightly as his eyes trailed down Jubilee's developed curves. Pulling his gaze away Logan looked at the offerings for dinner.

Then he looked at Remy, Rogue and Oro. "How are the three of you doin'?" Everyone at the table could tell Logan was desperately trying to ignore Bobby's obvious stares at Jubilee's backside.

Every leer he ignored because maybe Jubilee liked that sort of thing? At least that was how Logan justified it. Maybe her taste in men hadn't improved much since disappearing. Hell, they could have gotten worse she wasn't exactly stopping Bobby.

Trying to sip his beer Logan was at peace. A piece of meat suddenly flicked him in the nose. For a split second any telepath or empath in the room would have felt a barrel chested laugh coming on. Honestly, Logan didn't mind children, but his lifestyle didn't exactly scream father of the year. Hell, if someone considered his past too they would have written him off for father of the century.

Amiko loved him like a daughter, but grew up at a distance. She turned out okay. Then there was Daken, the son that wanted to kill him. So, Logan was afraid of hurting children by association. He felt like Sho Go had enough problems loosing family. Last thing the kid needed was a man like Logan to bring bad luck into his life.

Still the little guy managed to be cute. As the laugh came out Bobby's finger thrust forward. Then the laugh set Logan off. Snatching Bobby's finger out of nowhere Logan suddenly pushed the digit toward Bobby. A finger wasn't meant to go back that far, "Take it off or I break it off," Logan's voice carried a hard and protective edge to it.

As the guest questioned Logan kept the pressure on the finger, "Take yer other hand off her thigh." Jubilee's wide eyed look didn't go unnoticed. He understood that expression. Hell, Logan made countless girls involuntarily give that look thanks to his own wandering hands. Something about Bobby doing it at the table had set Logan off.

His gaze went to Jubilee. Throughout their years together they had developed silent looks and small nods. Often in hairy situations he waited for Jubilee to nod that she was okay before they kept pushing forward. The look he gave her had that same vibe plus a harder edge to it. A lot of times that edge came out when he was angry because some line had been crossed. Dozens of times that hardness flashed through his eyes as they worked together. Rarely did it come out for Jubilee and when it had it wasn't over something so trivial.

When Jubilee gave the nod Logan let go and left the table without a word. Xavier cried out, "Logan!" as did others.

"I'm goin' out!" he responded to the cacophony of noise. Heading to the garage the place was to make it to the Birdsall. It was Logan's favorite bar in the area. The place had been around since the forties, changed hands a bit, but didn't get reopened until 2011.

All of the booths dated back to the 1940s when the place first opened. Mixing the old and new brought Logan a small measure of peace as the parts of himself that remembered the past felt at ease here while the rest of him just liked the beer. Honestly it was the best of both worlds. Any X-man knew he visited the place once a month, usually on a Friday Night, save when something needed saving.

Getting on the bike he started it up, the keys were on a hook nearby, and the garage door opened. Any mutant had a chance to stop him if they wanted Logan to stay.

Jubilee as about two seconds from paffing Bobby's hand off. She wasn't sure what kind of game he was playing but her patience was reaching it's limits. The others just sat in stony silence, the animousity in Logan's tone a little surprising. Ice man cursed under his breath, ignoring the glare from her. "Ok, furball...get a grip on yourself." Her eyes wide at his warning growl toward the other man.

She had seen Logan like this in the past. Something was eating at him. Jubilee knew it was hard on him with Jean being gone. As much as she loved the man, Jubes knew that she would never measure up to that woman. The hand that had been traveling on her suddenly vanished. She watched as he stalked away. "Ororo? Could you?" The other woman needed no more explanation.

Even as a teen, the girl had an effect on the feral that few did. Jubilee followed after Logan while Bobby went to the medlab for something to bandage the offending digit. Logan was beginning to become predictable, well to her anyway. She reached him just as he started up the motorcycle.

Charles rolled into the medlab, tsking at Bobby. "If I wouldn't know better, Mr. Drake, I would think you were deliberately trying to cause a scene." The blonde smirked as he tore off a measure of tape for his finger. It was sprung, not broken thankfully. "If he can't see what I can then he's a buffoon. We both that girl came back here for him. She's not a kid anymore but he's not going to see that without a little push."

The older man quirked a brow. "That almost sound like you care." Bobby chuckled. "The hell I do. Just thought that maybe he had a steady girl like Jubilee, a woman with some class, maybe his hairy ass wouldn't be so grumpy." Charles chuckled, sending a prayer up for his young student. She was going to need divine attention to accomplish what she was after.

"Logan?" Her hand covered his on the bike. "I'm coming with you. We need to talk." The look in her eyes was one of pure stubbornness. This was something that needed to be done away from prying eyes. Ororo had Shogo covered for tonight so she had her bases covered. The two were watching from the window facing the driveway where he was attempting to leave. "Sad Poovie?" Storm smiled. "Mad Poovie, my dear. Let's go give you a bath while Mommy makes nice with Poovie. You got more of my roast beef on your shirt than in your mouth."

Jubilee placed her old helmet on and got onto the back of the bike, her arms around his waist. As they took off, she relished having him so close. This was going to be hard and she knew that Logan wouldn't accept it, at least not right away. He still saw her as a kid. It was time to dispense with that little notion.

Seeing that look countless times before Logan knew it was pointless to argue. Waiting for Jubilee to get on the bike he stewed for a little bit. The man wondered why Bobby got to him so much. Normally Iceman's antics were annoying, but tolerable. Tonight it was something of a different animal.

Jubilee's arms wrapped around his waist and that gave Logan the signal it was okay to drive. Trying to focus on the road instead of the chest that pressed into his back he clenched at the handles of the bike more as it roared down tree laden roads. Woods gave way for houses and other signs of life.

Birdshall House came into view after a few moments. The ride there was in silence. There was no use having a serious conversation while trying to yell of a Harley engine. Parking the bike Logan waited for Jubilee to pull away before getting off of it himself. Words continued to go unsaid, but he held the door open for Jubilee to slip inside.

With it being dinner time the place was starting to fill up. In a few more hours it would have been hopping with costumers. Seeing a few familiar faces working behind the bar Logan gave a simple nod or two. Clearly he was a regular.

Picking a booth toward the back he took off his coat and tossed it lightly further down the seat. For the first time Jubilee would have gotten an eyeful of him in a tanktop. How his chest pressed against the black fabric and muscles from his arms stuck out. Bits of body hair peaked out from the shirt too. His jacket had been worn to dinner since Chuck cut him off from leaving the first time.

Silence continued to settle in between them. Before anyone could have said something a waiter came over, "What'll it be?" He was a blonde haired college kid grateful for the job.

"Two Kelsos. Keep em' comin'," Logan ordered for both of them. The Kelso was a local pilsner made in New York.

"Need to see some ID," the waiter replied and Logan held his license out. It said he was forty-two. Seeing Jubilee's ID the waiter gave a nod and left the pair alone.

"So, talk," Logan said knowing damn well there was something on her mind. Jubilee didn't leave with someone so abruptly without having something to say. Especially now that she had Sho Go to worry about and come home to. Whatever was held back it was big and even Logan knew that.

Jubilee always enjoyed the wild ride of that old bike. It was so freeing to feel the breeze in her dark hair. She had yet to say anything about the feelings within her but Logan had already picked up on the change. She could tell just by the way he was acting around her. Not that she hadn't expected something to happen. He was such a stubborn man sometimes. Why couldn't he see it when everyone else did?

It was a little irritating being carded but she handed it over anyway. Jubilee smiled and thanked the waiter once she had the beer. This was going to take some liquid courage to say. Odd that when she was younger, she had told him just about everything. He was there for her first broken heart, threatening to skewer the other boy.

She sat there, examining those serious features on his face. He so seldom really smiled. That bothered her, alot. "Alot has changed for me. Obviously with Shogo and everything. Something happened to me recently that got me to thinking. I came across a mutant by the name of Bastian. I had no idea the guy was a fucking psychopath when I met him."

Jubilee took another leisurely drink. Those old memories still clawed at her insides, causing old pain to come back to the surface. "I asked Emma not to tell anyone about what happened. It was all a set up from the beginning. A woman came to the school claiming to be my mother's sister. I was looking for a connection to that family I lost so I decided to go back with her to California."

Her screams echoed in her mind. "Bastian had paid her to kidnap me. He worked with an old group of military men doing experiments on mutants. He was after something and I couldn't give it to him. Once he was done with me, he had his men crucify me." She put down the beer to show him her hands where the long nails had scarred her. "While I was on that cross, alot of things went through my mind. Alot of regrets that I never was able to rectify. I had one that I needed to fix."

She eyes him warily. "I think Bobby picked up on it. Probably why he was trying to ruffle your feathers so much." Jubes rolled her eyes, thinking about the bleach blonde idiot. "I was two seconds from torching his hand when you went at him." She was getting nervous. "I had an awful crush on you when I first came to the mansion. Somewhere down the line as I got older, it became something more."

Staying still Logan heard the story. Emma had informed him Jubilee was injured, but was healing fine. The news motivated him against the purifiers. No one hurt his friend and student, and got away with it. She wasn't the only motivation. When he needed to dig up that anger though, Logan just remembered hearing the news. Knowing that those bastards hurt Jubilee gave him all the rage he needed to keep going even when things were darkest.

Then hearing that she was crucified made Logan want to find what little remained of the purifiers and make them bleed. The man that orchestrated Mariko's death was given a very slow torture. Those that hurt Jubilee like that deserved the same fate, maybe worse. Mariko's death was painful, but did not last too long. Being crucified for hours was a longer ordeal with more mental torture than physical. All of the despair and sadness she felt made his blood boil.

Regret came up and Logan began to suspect what she was about to say. The way Jubilee had set everything up gave him a big clue. "No!" was Logan's knee jerk reply. Then thinking on it he made sure that Jubilee didn't up and leave, "Kid, yer my student. Trust me I've noticed the changes. Hard not to look at ya. If you were any other woman it wouldn't have been Bobby makin' passes at ya tonight at dinner," he admitted.

"Look at my track record. Mariko, Jean, Yukio," the list wasn't as long as it could have been. Logan kept it to people he cared about rather than including one night stands and friends with benefits. "All of em' get hurt. I won't allow that to happen to you, or Sho Go. Too risky," he warned her.

"Think of all the times someone like Creed n' Omega Red show up. Do ya want people like that to harm the kid because yer in my bed?" Logan was using the super villain and risk defense. He gave her a serious look, "Besides. Say we do shack up, what happens if somethin' goes wrong?" Logan didn't want to loose his best friend and student if something happened. That would have killed him a little bit on the inside.

The cold hard pain of rejection lanced at her heart. "I'm not a student anymore, Logan. The things I have seen and done have aged me. Those memories will never leave me, not after all the blood and tears." Jubilee could feel him steadily slipping from her and it was hurting her. She had to restrain the tears from flowing.

"I accepted the risk when I first joined the X-Men. It is always going to be a part of my life whether I am with you or not." She thought of Everett, another fellow member of Gen-X. "I am so tired of trying to find that connection with someone else when its right here. Every face, every guy, I always end up comparing them to you."

This was getting nowhere fast. How could she when he was letting his past hold him back? "You think I sat up there knitting or some shit? Creed, Sinister, FoH, Apocalyspe..all of them targeted Gen-X while I was there. I am not helpless and I have far more control of my powers than you know." There were also a few new surprises that she was waiting to show him in the danger room.

"I was just as much a target when we first met. As part of my family, Shogo always will be. I have my share of enemies too." He was backpedaling and they both knew it. "There are alot of 'ifs' in this situation. I could never exile you from my life, whether we were together or not. I can't pretend not to feel this way about you and I am willing to risk it."

Someone had started on the jukebox, playing an old country song. "I came back for you and this.." Jubilee pulled him to her, giving him a quick but deep kiss. The contact was electric, something she knew would happen. She was no innocent virgin and sex had been something that went on the back burner since she broke up with Everett. Logan was who she wanted.

Everything Jubilee brought up was valid. Enemies were going to be everywhere. One last defense Logan gave was, "I wouldn't forgive myself if it was 'cause of me." The words were soft.

Jubilee kept talking about not wanting to live in a world of "If's." Again the valid points continued. An old country song played in the air. He knew it. Before a comment could be mad eon it Jubilee's lips pressed to his. Logan felt a spark within him. A raw desire surged through him for a moment as their lips met. When it ended she could see the lust, desire and more within his eyes.

For the moment he was speechless and simply watching her. Ever since Jubilee arrived at the school she wanted his attention. Now, the young woman had it. Question was, what would she do with it?

That look in his eyes made her ache to hold him. The kiss lasted a mere 10 seconds but Jubes made the most of it. There was that connection, the one she had been seeking for so long with someone. Logan always made her feel complete. When she pulled back from him, she could see the emotions welling inside his eyes. Her body was tingling from the all too brief contact.

Jubilee needed more, more of him, alot more. "Come dance with me." She pulled him onto the dance floor, her arms wrapped about him. The slow beat of the song was exactly what she wanted. Jube let her hands glide up those strong arms then placed his hands on her waist. They moved with the music, the closeness stirring up a hunger in her blue eyes.

She was so tiny compared to this big animal of a man. It was one of the things she liked about him. He was always so warm, felt so good. Her hands rested on his hard chest. Jubes could feel her body heating and the hard aroused little nub between her legs starting to throb.

It was almost disappointing when the song finally ended and they went back to their seat. Jubilee took a chance and grabbed a handful of that tight ass. "I told you I came back for you." She whispered into his ear from behind. "I've been aching to feel you next to me, inside me."

Plenty of people dragged Logan to the dance floor. Thankfully Jubilee knew that he wasn't a known dancer. Feeling Jubilee close to him he was breathing hard. Holding her close it made him realize how much he missed holding her. During all the nightmares Logan held jubilee.

As the song came to an end he didn't expect what came next. Those small hands gripped Logan's backside causing him to jolt. Then her lips pressed to his ear and the whispers. Breathing hard she could tell that they had an effect on him. Logan panted a little, but he was holding himself back.

Sitting down in the both the gaze on her was territorial even with the restraint. Breathing hard he just kept his gaze on her. Biting his lower lip the inner turmoil could be felt and seen.

It felt like old times back in his arms but it was worth chancing him dancing on one of her feet. Her words did effect him. Her Wolvie couldn't hide that from her. Jubilee could see the confusion in his eyes. "Stop holding back. You're not going to break me, Logan and I'm certainly not afraid of you." She took another drink of the beer. "I've been in love with you for a long time and I'm not gonna give up on you."

She took his rough hand in her own, her thumb rubbing across his skin. They both had known nothing but suffering and loss for a long while. It was about time they lived their lives, try to be happy. "I'm not looking for the words back. What I want is a chance." Her insecurities were starting to rear their ugly head. How did she compete with Jean's ghost?

Jubilee slid into his lap, deliberately letting her little round ass rub into the crotch of his pants. It was dark enough in the small bar that they had some limited privacy. She touched his face, tracing the outline of that hard jaw, feeling his scruff beneath her fingers. "You always told me to follow my instincts. What do your's tell you now?"

She could feel his heart thudding in his chest. Logan could do anything but deny that he felt anything to her. She was tempting the animal in him to come out and play. For a feral that could be very dangerous but Jubilee was certain that no matter the situation, Logan would never deliberately hurt her. He just cared too much.

Her lips grazed over his neck and the hard nipples of her chest were poking through. The scent of her potent arousal was heavy in the air. Jubilee caught his earlobe in her teeth and nibbled then turned him to face her. This time she took her time kissing him. She could taste the tobacco from his favorite cigars and the beer he had just drank.

Her body shook against him. "Logan...please.." What she needed was heavy in her voice. Jubilee had dream of having him, long nights spent in agony with the ache between her legs. He was the only one that could quench that hunger she bore for him.

The struggle within Logan continued. When Jubilee said she loved him Logan was going to protest again. A chance was asked for and that made Logan become at ease for a moment.

As Jubilee rubbed and ground her ass against his lap she could feel his hardening member even through the jeans. Breathing harder she whispered sweet nothings. A sudden shift happened in his eyes. Pulling out his motorcycle keys he put them in her hand, "One chance. Make it count. Grab whatever ya brought to make this happen. You've got my number. Call it when yer on the road. I'll get us a room. Make sure the kid's secure for the night," the last part was the teacher within him admonishing his student. Given Jubilee's blunt and open movements he knew she had an ace or two up her sleeve.

It took everything in his power to be still. Between the scent that ran up his nose, and feeling her warmth as Jubilee writhed in his lap Logan kept still. His gaze went to Jubilee, "Hurry." the word was low predatory and as a warning. Her night was going to become very long once she made it back.

Logan's gaze stayed on Jubilee as she began to get up and head toward the door. His eyes watched her ass move. The feeling could have felt by everyone in the bar not just by Jubilee. Staying in the corner Logan sipped at his beer and waited while trying not to twitch.

Jubilee took the keys to the bike. It took her a minute to let his words register. "I'll be back." The ride back to the mansion seemed to take forever. She came in the front door and Bobby was there, waiting for her. He smirked. "Finally got to old furball, huh?" She shushed him and went upstairs to the suite to check on her son. Ororo was rocking him in the old wooden rocker in the room. "Hey."

The older woman just smiled. "Could you watch him for the night?" Jubilee didn't bother to explain, she didn't have to. Storm was as intuitive as Jean ever was but in her own way. "I would love to and goodluck with Logan." They all wanted to see him happy. After Jean and Mariko, he just hadn't been the same man. He hardly ever smiled and when he did, it never seemed to reach his eyes.

Jubilee packed a few things in her backpack, including some toys and the little lacey number she bought just in case this would happen. As she left, Remy and Rogue peaked their heads out their bedroom door. "Finally those two get together." Jubes used her yellow iPhone to call Logan. Once she knew exactly where she was going, the excitement began to build.

The door to the hotel room was ajar so she just went in. He wasn't inside which made the timing perfect. Jubilee went into the bathroom to change into the black babydoll number she picked up in Japan during a short trip there. When she heard him grumbling into the room, Jubilee walked out in the lingerie. Her black hair was brushed into a silky shine, her flawless skin perfect and those leg accented in a pair of black heels.

Logan had made arrangements at The Thayer Hotel. The place had three stars. Honestly he picked because it was a close, not a dive bar and it had enough old decor that pleased him. Getting to the place wasn't too bad just a simple walk after paying off his tab at the bar.

The room had light brown, almost tarnished gold looking rug, with various accents that look like they were made by a spiralgraph in gold. White ran across the ceiling and the barriers to the walls. The walls themselves were the same lighter color as the rug.

A nightstand near the bed was made of dark oak and the television stand was made of a matching material. A king size bed rested in the room with big white blankets, pillows that matched except the center which had brown woven accents in it. Making himself comfortable he enjoyed that the bed felt like a cloud.

Jubilee had some time and he slipped out of the room after taking his coat. While she had worked up his animal Logan was a little nervous there was some lines to cross. These lines could have blurred with a few words and teases like in the bar.

Still his nerves ate at him and took him to the bar. Having only one at the usual spot he figured a glass wouldn't have hurt especially with his healing factor. Savoring the taste he lingered for a while not sure how long she needed to make it to the hotel.

Time ticked by before Logan went back into the room. A few grumbles left his lips as he shut the door. Locking it his eyes were at the gold metal nob before Jubilee walked out in the lacey number she wore.

Seeing the flimsy black lace that ran up her body. All of the frills caught his eyes. How the fabric made her nipples poke out a little. Then there was the thong. His eyes ran up and down her body savoring every inch of it. Despite the desire in his eyes Jubilee knew she would have to make the first move. There was still the conflict between the beast and the man. At the end of the night she may not have been the one in control though.

Jubilee could see the apprehension in his eyes. She toed out of the heels, revealing the soft pink painted toe nails. She walked to him then behind, her arms arms enfolding his waist and placed a kiss at the nape of his neck. The view was one she could appreciate. Logan always did have a nice ass in those jeans. She pulled at the shirt her wore, pulling it over his head. There was no chance that she was going to rush this.

She kissed her way up his spine then licked up his neck, placing a small bite into his skin. Slowly she came around to his front, her hands skimming over his chest. "God, you're perfect." Rough animal that he could be, she still wanted him, all of him. Her nimble fingers unclasped his jeans but she didn't unzip him. Light as a feather, Jubilee lifted up to wrap her legs around his waist.

Her arms were around his neck and her lips devouring his. She was pressed tightly against him. Her tongue begged entrance and he gave it to her. Jubes shuddered against him, feeling the damp spot on the thong. The taste of him, the feel of him was so addictive. He was still so stubborn that she knew he couldn't accept that she was in love with him. So she had to show him.

God, she had dreamed of making love with him so many times. She had woken up a hot wet mess in the middle of night many times after dreaming of Wolverine. One hand reached and scraped her blunt nails over his spine.
