Vi gave a hesitant glance at the plaque as she walked up to the main gate, gently tapping a black gloved hand against the door. A peekhole slid open with a thunk, an eye peering out at her. "Present your enrollment sheet," The man barked.

"Oh- uh- right. My name's Vivian...," She started as she dug out the paper from her bag. "I think I'm supposed to be seeing the-"

He snatched it from her hand, glancing it over, then fully opeend the door. "Alright, Miss Hartwell. Your quarters are on the east end of the campus. Take your items and bring them there."

"But- I was supposed to see t-," She began once again, trying to get her sheet back from his hand as she spoke.

"You'll get the tour when the rest of the students arrive, Miss Hartwell!" He tossed the paper back at her, turning back to the door.

She scowled. *Nice guy. Asshole.* She slung her bags over her arms, trudging across the campus as she grumbled to herself. *Didn't even offer me a hand. Jeez. At least the place is pretty....*

Diego De'Ansalla walked the halls of his new school. he was brilliant that was sure. But something behind his eyes lingerd. It was though that he would be walking to his new courses, but really he was up to more devious things. he hummed a little tune. There was a music program he was dying to hear. So he headed to the auditorium.

Maybe he'd meet someone on his way.

(OOC: well i'm off for the next few hours. but I'm sure Diego would show you around after. If I see you tomorrow we'll chat. And I'll change my profile to reflect proper names soon enough. Night all.)

Feros stood quietly in the cafeteria, reading an old book while eating breakfast. It looked like another long year of studies. He'd only mastered his own abilities while being there, and not any other types. He shook his head, and looked up from his book.

Vi finally found her room, fumbling with the doorknob with her full arms and giving a relieved sigh as it opened. She dropped her stuff onto the floor, then hit the light switch- even more relieved to find only one bed in the room. She didn't have anything against sharing, but... well, it was nice to get some privacy.

Her arms now feeling incredibly lighter, she turned the light back off and headed back onto the campus walkways, looking around as she tugged her gloves off and stuffed them into her pocket. She headed into one of the main buildings, hearing some music down the way. Curious, she went to check it out, peering into the rooms as she went. She grinned as she found the cafeteria. Haaa... One place she'd be glad to visit!

Feros looked up in time to see one of what he assumed was the new students. He grinned, seeing the look on her face as she found the cafeteria. He turned his attention back to the food he was eating, humming softly. School looked good this year, he thought. "More students, maybe some interesting love lives to watch."

Vi raised an eyebrow as she saw the guy in the corner, going in for a moment. *Hey, at least gotta try to be sociable..*
"So.. how's the food here? A terrible transformation gone wrong... or pretty good?," She asked, peeking at his plate as she smirked. "My name's Vi. Just started..."

Feros laughed at the reaction. He shook his head, then offered her some. "It's better than it looks, usually. Name's Feros. Try to avoid the chicken, the chef doesn't know how to season it."

Vi shrugged, taking a small sample of it, then nodded in agreement. "That seems safe. I'll take your word on the chicken. I can barely handle my own experiments... I'd hate to find someone else's goof-ups in the kitchen." She reddened as the cook peeked out from the kitchen, shooting a glare in their direction. "Oh- Testy, ain't he?" She laughed, sitting down a moment.
"Feros, was it?" She paused, leaning against her hand. "How long you been here? A newbie too, or...?" She was hoping to find someone who had been in her father's class last year; maybe they could give her some kind of clue as to where he vanished to.

Feros smiled. "I've been here about three years. Still studying, trying to learn things other than fire."

Vi's heart jumped. "You have?" She leaned forward a bit, excited now. "Did you have any classes with Professor Jakob Hartwell? He taught physical conditioning... and was coach for the Transmutation Club..." She frowned slightly, looking to her hands. "He's... my dad."

Feros laughed at the enthusiasm in her questioning. "Yes, I've met him. He helped me understand that I have transmutation circles on my DNA."

"Perhaps you'd be willing to help me then." Vi frowned again. "I.. haven't seen my dad in almost a year. He had told me he was working on a new project... for an investor. If he could do this project, they promised to give dad new fundings for the academy..." She sighed, taking a moment to keep from crying.

"...But there's been no sign of my dad, or any funds. I'm not sure what he was working on, or even who this mystery person was. All I know is, dad would work on it late at night, in the basement. He left the house with a small box... and I never saw him again."

Feros thought for a moment. That sounded unlike her father, until he realized that the man had been asking for his help with some other stuff. "Well, he had me help with some research last year."

"What?" Vi looked at him with confused eyes. "Research? Why didn't he ask me to help him..? Do you remember what it was he was working on? Or what it was you looked up for him? Anything would help, really."

Feros shrugged. "Mostly old books being translated. Something about Sage's Stone, or something like that."

*Sage's stone?* Didn't ring any bells. But still- it was something to check into.
"Hmm." Vi gave him a warm smile, getting up. "Well, thanks for your help. And it was nice meeting you, Feros." She took a notebook from her pocket, forgetting her gloves were in there and knocking them out. She jotted down the stone, then gave him a wave, heading towards the door.

Feros nodded, then finished off his food. "Good luck, and if you find him, give him a punch in the arm from me."

Vi gave a weak smile at that, sticking the notebook back into her pocket and returning to her wandering through the hall. The music seemed to be getting louder- but she was also curious to find the library. Perhaps it was back across the campus.
Her attention was caught by a large open area she spotted out the window. She peeked out at it, trying to figure out its purpose. A large area of sand, unlit torches, and a small waterpool...
Her eyes drifted up, giving a happy squeek as she saw the sign- Transmutation training field. Of course! She grinned, hoping she could find someone to train with. She was curious to see how someone else would use that field. The small staffs in the corners- those must have been to draw a circle if it was needed... The sand must've been the perfect area to sketch one out...

Diego.

diego Listened in the Auditorium. he enjoyed little tests they did actually. Altering through alchemy their own levels of tone and pitch.

personally he thought the instructor was obsessed with finding a perfect note or something. But music he took as an elective, and music he would continue to take. Diego found it helped with his studies. Air was an amazing thing to try to master. Diego was still working on the Building block of Phosphorous into Diphosphorous pentoxide. The Weaponized version. It would still be almost useless as a living person. The Phosphorous merely burning, But If enough of a person's blood could be transmuted. Then he could make literally human torches. Torches that couldn't be extinguished and would spread to whatever they touched.

He was also learning about many of the simpler materials to stop fires. Things like Concrete and Granite.

The music struck a particularly nice tone. Like a crystal bell. It warped and turned. Diego looked to see another of the more prize students in the orchestra. he smiled and left the auditorium. Maybe some practice making glass. Or Some other thing. it was always calming doing things the hard way on the field. And the oddest things gave him new ideas.

Vi glanced over her shoulder as she heard a door creak to a close, seeing someone exiting the auditorium. She let go of the window, dropping back down on her heels and heading back down the hallway. She saw the blue coat of an officer before her, slightly surprised at that. Were there inspections or something?
"Uh- excuse me...," She called softly, a bit hesitant. "Ah- would you be able to tell me where the library is?"

"Hello. And what scrumptious little morsel are you? You must be new. I'll gladly take to the library. But first I was looking forward to making a little something. Just to keep up."

He watched her as he moved. His blue coat attracting her attention. He bent to get a stick and began to draw a simple pattern in the sand.

"I see you're wondering about the coat. I madea small breakthrough in Field combat. Nothing major but an interesting thought. However the military pays for my schooling if you have such ideas. Now I'm just studying trying to follow through."

He ketched an unorthodox looking circle on the ground, And from it a Much of the sand vanished in a large burning. He thumbed the steamed creation as he pickedit up. Finally giving the girl a Stinky but beatiful dove. Only about 3 inches long. With wings outstretched.

"I've always paid attention to detail."

He Handed it to her and began to walk briskly off the east path.

"The Library."

Vi watched him curiously, giving a soft nod as he explained the coat. Ah... so he was associated with the military...
She gave a soft laugh as he handed her the bird, taking it gently in her hands, only for it to take off from her grasp in a matter of seconds. "That was.... beautiful."

"I've always paid attention to detail."

"So I see...." She watched as the bird flew over the academy's walls, smirking. He was definitely further ahead in his studies than she was. The most she could do was simple manipulations... she doubted she could pull something like that off.

"The library."

His words shook her out of her thoughts, blushing sheepishly. "Ah- yes... I'm sorry." She hurried over to him, smiling. "As for my name... Its Vi. Vi Hartwell."

Diego took Vi's hand. And gave it a little kiss performing a perfect courtly bow.

"Vi. Is that short for Violetta? or Vivian? Or just Vivacious? Allow me to introduce myself. I am Diego Andreas Alejandro Esteban De'Ansalla."

He rose. Dusting his coat down. he began walking. not letting her hand go. tracing an intricate pattern into it.

"Hartwell? A relation to professor Hartwell? he noticed some of my designs. was very interested in a fellow student if I recall. I quite liked him. he took off about a new source of power. Well an old one. Rumours really of a way to ignore the first laws. But I'm boring you. What are you here for?"

The tracing of her hand stopped and a small pain followed by a great rush fills Vi's head for just a moment. Then leaves.

"Like flying isn't it. I majored in chemistry. it does wonders for surgery. I hope to do some of that."

He walked on no longer holding her hand. "This way."
