Never having listened to country music before I did a stint as a CW DJ, the tedium of mainstream country was relieved by playing a couple Alison Krauss songs each hour, with maybe a K.D. Lang thrown in for good measure.

Her clear, pure lovely voice is described by how she describes music:

Music, of any genre, well done, demands that one listen and listen with all your soul... I paraphrase, but that is the essence.

She is on a hour long television special as I surf back and forth between news and little league baseball with an occasional foray here to the forum...

such a deal...

I love Allison Krause (and Union Station) and kd lang. Saw kd in concert.

And I've been watching the Little League WS too. Fun. I'm a bit concerned that a 13 year old weighs 225, even though he's just under six feet tall. Hope he can grow into it.

Yes, I had intended to mention the band, Union Station, some of the finest musicians all gathered together for long enough to really become a part of each other.

Some of those twelve and thirteen year old boys are as big as men, I think the species is evolving....smiles..

Now you are really pissing me off, Ami. I really find it irritating and unfair of you to post things that I agree with.

I've liked Allison Krause as far back as the beginning of her career when she was playing with Ralph Stanley's Blue Grass Band.

It does seem she learned a lot from Ralph Stanley. She carries off the same cords and rhythms. Even some of the songs on her CD's are the same tunes she was playing back then.

The wonderful thing about Blue Grass - It's constant and never changing.

I was thinking the very same thing.

I adore Alison. "When You Say Nothing At All" is on my MP3. Ethereal, a joy to sing with.

Jenny, McKenna...imagine a heartily laughing Amicus, if you can manage that, geez, ladies, no way in hell I can please you! :rose: :rose:
