In space no one can hear you scream…

Imagine a universe torn apart by war. A universe where entire galaxies are wiped out over night. Worlds are the battlegrounds for thousands of factions but three races stand apart as superior.
One race is composed of biological nightmares that feed off the fear of other creatures. They are deadly parasites hell-bent on expunging all other life and exterminating any who oppose them. Another race is made up of courageous and merciless hunters that posses far more advanced technology than their counterparts. They are glorious warriors in search of challenge and blood. The third are resourceful and organized beings that use superior strategy and weaponry to their advantage. They seek to unify the universe under one nation and destroy all who threaten it. There can only be one victor…the outcome is in your hands. This is AvP.

A Universe at War

This universe is not for the weak of heart. You will find on elves and fairies here. You will be fighting for survival in a realm where survival is not guaranteed. Danger lurks behind every corner and fear looms in the shadows. This is a universe at war. Keep your weapon ready and remember your training.

Characters

As a hero in a warring realm the character possibilities are endless. Your character might be:
• A battle-hardened Colonial Marine veteran
• A bloodthirsty Yautja hunt leader
• A ravenous and plague-ridden Xenomorph
• A lethal Dead Sun assassin up-for-hire
• A wise and honorable hierarch
• A widely-respected officer and tactician
• A renegade smuggler working for a corporation
• A cocky and reckless pilot
• Or any kind of character you can imagine

The battlefield awaits you. Are you ready?

Quite some into, huh? Anyway I would like to test out my new roleplaying game.
If the introduction caught your attention, read the rules and basics as follows and make a post.

There are three warring species competing for universal control.
Aliens
Biological nightmares that feed off the fear of other creatures. They are deadly parasites hell-bent on expunging all other life and exterminating any who oppose them.
Aliens are exotic creatures that posess thick hides, razor-sharp claws and talons, sharp teeth, sythe-like tails, piercing maws, and acid blood.

Classes
Warrior: A dangerous xenomorph with very-dense acid blood and an appatite for blood.
Praetorian: A heavily-armored defender of the hive that has developed resistances from fire and acid.
Runner: A quick and silent killer capable of leaping great distances and running at speeds as fast as most cars.

Humans
Resourceful and organized beings that use superior strategy and weaponry to their advantage. They seek to unify the universe under one nation and destroy all who threaten it.
You already know a lot about humans (being one) and know that they persue a variety of intrests. There is no "norm" when it comes to being a human.

Classes
Colonial Marine: A badass military conscript trained in the use of all the weapons on the market.
Scout: A stealthy sniper/tracker who keeps his distance in a fight to get the perfect shot.
Battle Medic: A combat healer/demolitionist capable in many areas.

Predators
Courageous and merciless hunters that posses far more advanced technology than their counterparts. They are glorious warriors in search of challenge and blood.
Predators are humanoids that have a strict culture and honor system. Disobediance could be fatal.

Classes
Primal: Tough and burly, these fighters prefer brute force over diplomacy.
Hunter: Highly-trained killers skilled in tracking and enviornmental knowledge.
Wraith: Skillful asssasins that set ambushes on their opponents to best them.

That about covers it, recruition starts now.

So you need a cocky pilot huh? *raises hand* I'm in!

Mind if its a predator pilot or do you want a human one?

Kick ass concept, btw.

Nice, the world could use a few more cocky pilots...

As for being a predator pilot, there is not much to flying pred ships as they can basicly fly themselves.

Were you planning on flying or driving? Vehicles include APC's, tanks, mobile artillary units, hoverbikes, walkers, ect. while ships include dropships, deep space fighters, freighters, command ships, ect. There is a BIG difference.

hmm . . . a pilot needs a gunner. How about a predator hunter as your co-pilot? or not, but is that okay with you Villani?

If you guys are both preds then yeah, pilot and co-pilot would work out pretty well.

So far it looks as if most people are leaning towards predators...

I dunno, I just think they're cool . . . they were what I played back when I used to play AvP the the FPS game.

I'll mold a campaign around whatever your main focuses are. I have two particular predator campaigns in mind that are not particularly focused around air combat but I can be flexible.

hmm . . . actually I came up with a really funny idea, you could have a really cocky pred. pilot, and a human copilot, and it would be like Han and Chewie, only the other way around . . .

To be honest, I was thinking of just a pred. character, I don't really care if it's in space or not, but it would be fun to fight in space as well as on ground.

It would be best if you both were of the same race (it would save me some greif) and you guys don't always have to be side-by-side. One of you can pilot if he wants while the other stalks prey on the ground. Np with that.

By the way, I got a PM request for an antagonist character planning on being a droid of some sort. I think I found you guys a Nemesis. ;)

lol . . . cool. I meant more like huge battle in space, and other times maybe battles on the ground, not necessarily at the same time.

If you are into massive battles, I can really make the shit hit the fan but with predators (im not sure if you know or not) they are not militarily organized but instead hunt and invade in small groups called "clans". The only massive battles they will be involved in are skirmishes where they will be highly outnumbered (although not outgunned) when facing the other factions.

But I know what you mean when you want a mixed, diverse campaign. Trust me, I have played all the big roleplaying games and have been a GM for every game I've ever done. Your campaign will be diverse and flexible (though I tend to favor horror, action, and a good plot).

lol. Yeah I did know that Predators tend to only work in small groups, I was kinda hoping for something like battles for control of a world which starts in space and maybe drops to the ground, but like big fleet kinda movements where one extra ship doesn't make a difference. Those kinds of things.

Yeah, I get what you mean and I can do those. I can easily incorporate that as an intro to the campaign (it's not a bad idea for an opener either).

Okay, went and hunted around on the internet for some more indepth reasoning on the predetors and using that, here's my gal.

Nan-de Than gaun aka Nan-de for short
(Kiss-of-Midnight)
Blooded Hunter
http://ewancient.lysator.liu.se/pic/fanq/r/a/rachaelm3/predatorjade1.jpg
Height- 3.1 m
Weight- 300 lbs
Age- 89, matured but not ready to settle down
Class/type- Pilot of both the Ner-uda (shuttle) and Man'daca (migratory craft) mainly, secondary fighter
Weapons- standard plasma cannon, right arm tri-wrist blade, left dual-wrist blade, enough shuriken to filet a whale, and a naginata.

A trained combat pilot from a clan known for its ferocity, Nan-de really isn't all that bad for a female. Still more likely to rip you apart then mate with you but hey, least she won't kill you on sight.
Nan-de became Young Blood at the tender age of only 22 (young for a female I guess) when a pack of Xenomorphs managed to get loose in the lands surrounding her clan's home. She still bears the acid scars up her arms from that battle and rarely removes the armor covering them.
For a female she's on the nicer side, for a pilot she's freaking nuts. Knows every dimension of her ship and will use that knowledge to take it cm's away from another object, much to her crew's fear/astonishment. Even the computer autopilot thinks she's crazy and used to sound frequent klaxons when she pulled one of her stunts. Now, the klaxon wire's disconnected so its a lot quieter on board the ship.
She's off galavanting around the universe for a very simple reason- status. The more kills she and her crewmate pick up the higher she rises in her clan's heirarchy and the stronger a mate she can eventually get. When she's ready to settle down. Least that's her public reasoning behind leaving her clan to join a band of males on thier hunting foreys. She's got another reason but that's a secret.
When hunting she's in it to watch the blood of her enemies fly, no matter the color. Her armor is now treated to resist the acidic blood of the xenomorphs and covers only the essential areas, mesh camo-netting taking up the rest.
Nearly neurotic about the sharpness of her blades and can often be found sharpening blades and flying at the same time.
While good with the wrist blades, her main training has been in the shuriken throwing- females of breeding age are "strongly advised" not to allow anything to impeed thier ability to breed other then death so distance strikes are prefered.

How's that? Lot of my info came from http://members.iinet.net.au/~jaherne/thehunted/index.php
which has got a lot of info on it. Just in case anyone else is a smidge on the clueless side on how the Predator society works.

Nice. I'm glad you have figured everything out for yourself (as it makes my job slightly easier).

*shrugs*
I adore the Alien movies and really enjoyed AvP but haven't been able to find the Predator movies here (being overseas sucks some days).
And I dislike being in any RPG setting where I have no clue what's going on. Like being switched from Grayhawk to Forgotten Realms just before we started a new campain pissed me off because I had no clue about FR. I do now (Drizzt rocks!) but the lack of knowledge on the spot for a game upset me.

So if you've any other info sites, that'd be nifty.

lol . . . ever since 3.5 came out and there was the whirling dervish, I've seen too many Drizzt esque characters.

My main question for you is, do you want a PC in your crew? or not?

It doesn't matter either way to me, but it makes my life somewhat easier if you say yes, in that I've gotta find a reason why I'm flying around the galaxy.

I kinda figured she'd be a drop ship pilot and work with others in the thread, so sure, join my group. Makes DM'ing it easier too, and gives me someone to play off of.

oh I was hoping we'd be in a kind of small cruiser so that we could have a crew of like 10 but still be able to be a decent fighter ship, well I gotta take a shower, but I'm gonna post up my character a little later.

You guys should organize as a clan and specify everyone's tasks and duties. It sounds like you guys are going to be cruising around in a clan ship and hunting on random planets (like nomads). Go and do what you want and I can work it into a plot line.

Thei de Guan- Killer of the Night
Age: 68
Height: 2.6 meters
Weight: 270 lbs.
Young Blood Hunter
Weapons: Single Wrist Blade on each arm, Modified Spear gun, 2 Modified Smart Disks, Shoulder Gun

He passed his ritual only about 30 years ago but was named "Killer of the Night" thereafter because of his uncanny ability to make precision strikes, be they ranged or melee. Being smaller and not as strong as others of his kind, he is not given respect at first meetings but he is faster and more agile than most predators. He has gained much respect from his fellow crewmates because of his abilities to kill at much longer distances, preferring to use a modified spear gun that is deadly even at long distances. He is trained with using Wrist blades, but doesn't use them often. He uses two smart disks for close range, instead of throwing them though, uses them as melee weapons relying on his greater dexterity to strike at vital spots. His precision fighting style also is partly what earned him his respect, which caused him to treat all of his weapons so that they would not be affected by the acidic blood. He's great with ranged weapons, proving a good gunner on any ship. He carries two masks with him, preferring to use a simple low tech mask whenever he can. He doesn't wear much armor, only mesh and small plates that shield his forearms, a few other vital spots, and the back of his head. He hunts because he's young and even though he's devastating with ranged weapons, he needs his trophies. He teamed up with Nan de Than Guan not much long after his Blooding ritual and is thrilled by the crazy moves that she does, it makes him wonder if joining this group of hunters was a good idea every now and then, but he doesn't regret it when he sees the look of suprise for killing prey others didn't even notice.

Alright, I'll start the campaign later tonight. If anyone wants to join in just send me a PM and I'll intoroduce you right into the action.

And so it begins...

Far from the core systems, out in the dark deepths of space drifts the Tarei'hasan, clan ship of the Guan-thwei. What the Tarei'hasan lacked in size and firepower it made up for in speed and manuverability. The ship's sleek wings are lined with rows of twin-linked plasma cannons but the craft's real power lies in its aft bomb bay where hundreds of deadly "sticky" magnetic mines lay in wait.
Inside the womb of the ship, a half-dozen yautja sleep quietly while the clan pilot, Nan-de quietly steers the Tarei'hasan through an astroid belt. All was quiet untill the ship recieved an incoming transmission from the Kantra .
The bridge was bathed in light as a hologram rippled into sight. The fuzzy picture revealed a mature yautja male clad in thick, scaly beast hides. The male made a shallow growling sound before speaking.
"Many of my best hunters have meet with U'sl-kwe on this paya-forsaken world. The Pyode Amedha managed to capture a Blooded, Nihkou'te, before he could Bpi-de his life. I fear he will become a victim of their experiments." There was a breif pause in the transmission as the hunter looked at the ground.
"We too will encounter U'sl-kwe in a matter of moments from the storm. It is now your chiva and duty to kill Nihkou'te and restore his honor and avenge our clan by killing every last Ooman. Go with honor, you know what must be done." The hologram flickered and dimmed.
The ship's contorl panel flashed with new coridnates set for a small, backwater planet known to the hunters as H'dlak.

Sure, marines are always needed. There are a couple of ways we can do this.
1-You can ba an antagonist fighting against the main characters (which fits this campaign)
2-We can have a second campaign going at the same time for marine characters
3-You can join this campaign as a Predator (you have not missed much since it just started)

let me know what you were thinking
