No one who listened carefully to Franken's remarks this morning could walk away from them with any notion of why he is bothering to resign. He stood there in his purple tie grinning smugly, explaining, as if to a sensitive child, why he had done nothing wrong. Without referring to any specific incident of sexual misconduct or even mentioning the names of any of his accusers, he calmly insinuated that all of the eight women who "have come forward to talk about how they felt my actions had affected them" are liars or victims of confusion.

He is "shocked," he said, by their stories. He is even — the poor man — "upset." But he is also "respectful," so respectful indeed that he worries that he might have given "the false impression that I was admitting to having done things I haven't done." What a pity. Franken should rest easy. I for one was not under any such impression. His conviction that he is wholly innocent of any crime or misconduct is perhaps the only aspect of this affair about which I am utterly certain.

Franken regrets nothing except the fact that he can no longer be an "effective" politician. He can, he tells us, hardly bring himself to "walk away from this job with so much work left done." His decision to abandon his political career was motivated not by personal guilt but out of selfless concern that a thorough investigation by a Senate ethics panel would exhaust his ability to fulfill his obligations towards the people of his home state. "Minnesotans," he said, "deserve a senator who can focus with all her energy on addressing the challenges they face every day."

Al has always been a world-class asshole. The media will allow him to retain his title of Senator Asshole after he leaves the Senate, whenever that occurs.

Far as I can tell, Franken never dropped his pants, nor went after teenagers.

Did anyone hear Franken apologize?

Has anyone heard Roy Moore with draw or the Donald say he's sorry for grabbing 'em by the pussy? Franken did apologize by his actions. I've read that those on the right are saying the left has sacrificed Franken just to gain the moral high ground. Guess what? It worked. They have shown that what they expound is what they will uphold. Your turn.

He'll be around for weeks. The Democrats have sacrificed nothing for that high ground, he's going to be replaced by an even more radical leftist. They only care about voting numbers. Meanwhile, their reputation continues down the toilet with another Democrat in the House from Nevada being asked to step down.

Exactly the response I thought you'd give. Of course they care about voting numbers and what better way to improve those then to show they walk the talk? I think eventually people are going to get tired of those who talk out of both sides of their mouth. Those who on the one hand point at their opposition and scream about those who engage in unsavory behavior and then when they divest themselves of the cancer, denigrate them for policing their own by stating they are loosing nothing or proving nothing while simultaneously defending those in their ranks who have engaged in exactly the same behavior. Yea, nothing like hypocrisy is there?

Do you think they would have demanded Franken's resignation if there was a Republican Governor in Minnesota?

Of course he isn't sorry nor should he be. He tried to fuck people who weren't interested. So what? We are all guilty of that. He shouldn't have resigned.

"Al Franken must resign!"

*Al Franken resigns*

"Al Franken didn't resign hard enough!"

Biggest mistake Franken ever did was trim down that fro.
