The family bathroom door was immediately opposite the airing cupboard. In order to get into Peter's bedroom the airing cupboard door had to be closed. Peter's mother would frequently be sorting out the airing cupboard while Peter was in the bathroom. When he opened the door he would often find his mother wearing nothing but a short nightdress and forcing him to lean into her while he half closed the airing cupboard door to get past. Increasingly she playfully resisted until one morning he was so close to her that he could feel himself pressing into the crack of her bottom while she pushed back. She lay her head back on his shoulder and half turned to kiss his neck.
