Sumit - 6'1'', fair, black hair, brown eyes, handsome, muscular hunk.

OOC - Sumit, 22 lives with his mom Anu ,41 at their house in Delhi. His father died 2 years back. For 2 years, Anu led a life in solitude - Sumit was away for his studies. Now Sumit has got a job in Singapore. They sold all their property in Delhi & boarded the plane for Singapore..... the ill-fated flight 714.

IC - Sumit opened his eyes. He faintly remembered the plane going topsy-turvy and maddening shrieks of his fellow passengers. As he regained his senses, the reality gradually sunk in - they'd crash-landed on some island. "Lucky me", he thought, "we didnt crash into the sea".

He looked around himself and found signs of wreckage all around him - dead bodies, steel parts etc. He got up and examined the bodies. It seemed to him that he was the sole surviver - he survived because he landed onto a tree. Then he heard a cry. He turned around and his eyes lit up. There lay Anu, his beautiful mother - badly bruised but alive - beside him.

He rushed towards her....

Sumit lifted Anu in his arms and carried her over to the bech. He sprinkled a few drops of water on her face. Anu came to her senses gradually. "Mom", he said, "wake up mom".

Anu

"Sumit, what happened? Where are we?!" Anu's voice conveyed the tension and fear she felt. She could remember the plane shaking and turning roughly. She remembers hitting her haed on something. Then blackness. And now.......

Anu's head throbbed. Her entire body felt like she had been beaten and battered. The truth began to sink in.

"Did we crash?" She asked Sumit. "Are you alright?"

I'm fine, Mom. But everybody else is dead. We crash-landed on this island. Lets go & see if we can find any transmitter or food in the wreckage debris.

Anu

Anu forced herself to stand. Her body ached all over. She felt certain no bones were broken. But her pain was intense, none the less.

As she looked around at the scene of destruction she became emotionally overwhelmed. She began to shake and to sob.

"Oh, Sumit, it is so terrible! Hold me."

She reached out to her only source of comfort, her son.

Sumit took her in his arms. Her body felt so soft...

"Oh Mom, calm down" he said.

"All's not lost. I'm with you." saying that he took her hand in his and squeezed it warmly. Then engulfing her again in a bear hug, he caressed her hair.

Anu stopped shaking. She felt safe and secure with her son. Somehow, she knew, they would survive.

"Let's see what we can find," she said. "I'm fine now. This is just such a shock."

Holding tightly to Sumit's hand, Anu began to search through the wreckage.

They collected all the food they could find from the wreckage.

Sumit took a large steel rod out & erected it on shore. "This will attract any ships that come this way" he said.

They took all the food they could find from the wreckage. They took some clothes and steel sheets from the planes wing to make the shelter.

In about 4 hours, their shelter was ready. It was a small, tent-sized room, made of wooden sticks, parachute cloth & steel sheets - just big enough for both of them.

"Howz it, Mom?"

Anu

"Well, son, it isn't very big. But, for now, it's home. Do you think we can make a fire to cook some of this food?" Anu tried to keep her voice calm. She knew their situation was serious. She hoped against hope that some help would arrive soon.
