The wife and I are having a debate. We recently started watching westworld, and basically you can kill and fuck incredibly life like robots.. I know every couple is different, so would you consider it cheating if your significant other fucked a robot?

Hmmm

Wow! Good question, specially considering I think it will become a real thing in the years to come....not sure how I feel about that!

We had that exact conversation and the answer came back No, it was not. It's just a very sophisticated sex toy, at least that was our conclusion

I agree on the very sophisticated sex toy conclusion, however the wife thinks it's cheating. Good thing I have a few years to warm her up to the idea.

So where is the line drawn between masturbating and cheating?

Is it when's sex toy gets arms and legs? If so, would using the current Love Doll things count as cheating? How about if this doll had a circuit board that says "yeah baby"? Would it be the voice plus force-feedback? Is this still a glorified sex toy?

If the computer chips and motors allowed this doll to walk and say "come here and do me", would that cross the line? Would it take batting eyelashes and a smile?

Is the line all of the above, plus a good ability to mimic lifelike actions? Is it the addition of advanced technology to existing toys?

I don't know yet how i would answer...

See What Is Cheating? and decide. Basically, if you or your partner(s) consider it cheating, then it is. Y'all set your rules; you can abide by them, or not.

I'll make a rule: If the device has the (artificial) intelligence of a dog, you're cheating; if not, it's a sex toy. What AI engine powers your device? Is it smarter than you?

I haven't seen Westworld, but in basically all sci-fi I've ever read or seen, robots are written as basically human (or intellectually and emotionally equal to human). So yeah, I'd consider sex with such a being cheating, if they existed, and I were in a monogamous relationship.

What an interesting question.

To start with, there are quite a lot of women who would regard their man using a a fleshlight or sex doll as cheating, and maybe some men would regard use of a dildo likewise. To some extent it would probably depend on the extent of the use. If a man or woman seemed to prefer a toy to their partner's real thing then I can see problems arising.

The problem with a robot is the added realism. I don't suppose anyone would regard a dildo or a fleshlight as a substitute lover but a robot gets nearer to it, largely, I suppose, because of the responses it could give, especially if they become very sophisticated. A robot that asks if you like the feel of its pussy or its cock or asks you to stick your finger in its arse isn't going to go down well.

On the other hand, a couple who would like to try out a threesome but aren't yet up to the real thing might find a robot to be the ideal solution.

Depends on whether or not the robot was a person. If they reach a certain level of awareness to be considered living, then it's the same as them being with another human. The same goes for aliens, animals, and whatever else.

My wife & I require one another's permission to have vaginal, oral, anal, or strap-on sex with anyone else.

I too think not cheating. pretty much like masturbation. then agian I would fuck my rooba if it could get me off. ;)
