This thread is to kick off a new challenge. Ask questions, share ideas, announce participation, or share anything else relevant to the challenge here!

Laurel will create the post on the story side shortly.

AI A NEW ERA

Artificial Intelligence is more complicated than anything the human race has ever created. How does the creation manipulate the creator **in bed**? This anthology brings together stories of AI and it's sexual effects on the intelligent apes confused enough to think they control it.

>>>AI is great friend of people. Make people feel really good.<<<

Open to all authors! Stories may cover the orgasmic as well as the horrifically orgasmic aspects of AI. Let your creative juices flow!

LITEROTICA RULES APPLY; machines and machine learning will not be an excuse to bypass them. "No sexual activity involving bestiality (you can write stories about supernatural beasts like ghosts, unicorns, werewolves, etc.) or underage persons will be considered. For the purposes of this site, the minimum legal age is 18. This site does not publish stories, articles, essays, or other material supporting, encouraging, or defending child abuse and/or exploitation."

The general theme is that artificial intelligence pushes the boundaries of human experience, from the robot love stories to the Simpson's 'House of Whacks' to psychological programming. How exactly ARE babies made in 'The Matrix'? To learn more about AI, here's some resources:
(1) The danger of AI is weirder than you think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhCzX0iLnOc
(2) Women will have more sex with robots than men by 2025 with 'robophilia' set to relegate romance: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-...ts-men-8312068
(3) Humans are ready to take advantage of benevolent AI: https://www.sciencedaily.com/release...0610135534.htm

Open for submissions: 1010 (aka October 10, 2021)
Posting date: 1111 (closes 5 days prior on November 6, 2021)
Begin the title to your submission with "AI Era:"; copy and paste the text ‘AI Era’ in the Note to Admin field.

I'm glad to see this challenge because I have an artificial intelligence/erotica story I've been working on for a while but I don't know if this schedule will work. I have a whole bunch of stories I want to get done between now and then. But it's a great idea for erotic stories.

Oh! Oh! Oh! I already have some AI-powered sex bots ready. They didn’t do so well with their cameos in my Valentine’s Day story so I think they’ll enjoy the opportunity to spread their wings.

And slaughter humans mercilessly by fucking them to death. Oh, wait. They wouldn’t do that. Right? Hey, right?

As Simon says, some time management will be in order. Overlaps with the Halloween contest and the run up to Winter Holidays, both of which I have plans to enter.

Moi aussi!

Great idea and thanks, bettie.

@simondoom I hope you can make it!

Hmmm... all my AI stories are already posted, in Sci-Fi. And none of them are erotic. :(

Sounds like fun! (Scheduling was difficult.)

I'm waiting to hear back from Laurel regarding stories that are already published. & non-erotic stories are fine, too!

But then there comes the problem of scoring? Mine are already above the 4.5 level. And have thousands of views and hundreds of votes. And besides the AI's are aren't the focus of the story until the last couple of books. They are there, but...

Q&a

From Laurel: If an author wants to submit a story that has already been published, then they would need to remove it from the site and resubmit it as new. We will post it as new and it will be eligible for the challenge but it will not be eligible for any contests (monthly or otherwise) because it is not new to the site.

I'll try to make it so. Thanks!

As to scheduling, agreed. No matter when you could put it it'd overlap with other contests and such. But at least you've given us warning, so it's on us to manage our time or not.

I won't be doing that, it might confuse people. What I will do, is try to finish the last part of the story, which deals a lot with AI ships and androids. Along with the people that use them. So, if anyone wants to know what's really going on, they might have to read the seven parts before the last on. Most of them are short, under 40,000 words.

Again there is no sex of any kind in these. They are pure Sci-Fi.

I have nothing at the moment, but I'll give it some thought. As for scheduling, how could you resist the binary dates of 1010 and 1111?

Right? It couldn't be too soon, b/c some planning is involved, but then going into 2022 seemed too late relative to this announcement (that it would be forgotten). Never done this before so, figured the fall was best. Besides relative to the Amorous Goods & Halloween contests, AI stories tend to have scary elements, so it seemed to fit in.

It's bad enough that I already have four stories in progress, but this challenge has intrigued me enough to write a synopsis/plot summary for a fifth story.

It involves two protagonists, Ed Dykema and Gracie Harper (their names are unabashed plays on the names of two computer giants,) and their AI project named Eliza (a real name borrowed from an early AI program.) The premise is cliché, with strong resemblance to episodes of The Outer Limits or The Twilight Zone, but it should be enjoyable... if I can get it done...

Sounds intriguing! (I plan to read all of the submissions...)
