I must be in survey queen mode. But I just got thinking about how long I've been here, and what I've been doing since I have.

So, how many stories do you write a month, based on the last year? (And how has this differed from when you first joined?)

You mean there are people who write more than one story in a month? WOW! :D

You watch, I'll get an analyst in and compare the 3 polls - how long been here, how many daily posts, how many stories - and make conclusions on who I need to whip and who deserves a treat ;)

Seriously though, I only have 6 stories posted and I've been here a little over a year and a half. I've submitted 2 stories in the last 36 hours, though they haven't posted yet. I have at least 5 stories (I've lost count) in the works with tons of ideas floating around in my head. Inspiration struck me to write again early last week and I've been on a roll. Prior to that, no drive.

Lets see, been here two years in January... posted 27 stories and two poems.... got about 40 stories finished but not posted plus two books and another 60 stories in work and two more books....

The more bored I am at work the more i write.,...

I have the opposite of writer's block. I have volumes of things (probably drivel) that I want to write, and lack the time to write them in. I end up writing in my head when I should be sleeping.

Steps are being taken. We shall see.

Ditto that. I have plenty of ideas, but lack the time and well, the motivation sometimes to write. I'm always writing something at all times, usually in increments of one paragraph per week. :p

I'm not sure how to answer this. I currently have 81 submissions in my profile: 51 stories (some of them are series chapters) and 30 poems. A lot of them were written before I had even heard of Literotica.

I usually have something in the works on the new story front, but my output is a lot slower than the authors that I dub the Big Three: SK, DK & Red. Whenever I look in the list of new stories and see their listings, I get whiplash. :p

Even though I don't put out material as fast as that, I have entire notebooks of ideas.

My timetable depends on the piece that I'm writing, and it generally ranges from a couple of hours to 3 weeks. Smut is the easiest to write (poetry is next), whereas more complex stories take a great deal more time and energy to compose.

Okay, enough of the blah blah. The short answer? Probably one or two a month, if that many. July was a very productive month for me, for example. I worked on four stories then, completing two of them (Sea, Sun & Sex and Bitter Harvest).

I haven't been here long enough to notice any difference in output since I joined Lit, but my skill and confidence levels concerning my writing have greatly improved since the beginning.

An average

I went to my page and counted 11 new stories since I joined, so 0.9 stories a month.

Doh, I read the poll wrong, thought it said how many in the last 12 months.

Anyway, I've actually submitted 6 in the last year. Trouble is, most were almost 10-12 months ago. The last was 9 months ago. So my average is somewhere between zero and not much.

Now, if you include partial stories, say, over 50% complete, them I probablly average about 3 a month. If only I could finish them...

How do I count?

I have posted 18 stories so far in 2006 but then I reduced 5 chapters of Scarf Party to a single story.

Do my fifty-word submissions count as 1 or 15? If 15 then the total must be close to 60 this year.

How do I compare with when I joined? Probably more stories actually written because in my first few months I posted several stories that were already complete.

Exactly! *crazy eyes* :D

I have reams of stuff that is in progress, in outline, or just a note on a page.

I just removed 30 chapters of a fanfic that was only good for troll fodder and cannibalism, which leaves my current submission total at:

2 poems
24 submissions posted (9 are chapters of longer stories)
5 pending

I joined, with this account, in March. 3.4 stories or chapters a month.

That said:

I actually finish roughly 6-8 chapters a month. 1-3 short stories, and god only knows how many poems.

I've been reading the site since it opened practically. I've been writing since about a year after that. I started submitting a little over 19 months ago? I now have 8 stories on the site.

I have over 80 stories in the works. None of them appear to be anywhere near finished. they aren't all that long, but I have that much trouble sticking to any one story and just finishing it.

My output is pretty steady. One to two stories a month.

I think length might be taken into account though. Many of my stories are over 18,000 words in length. More of the rest close to 10,000.

So I suppose I do OK output wise.

Dear God, child! Write much? ;)

Survivor

I haven't written anything for going on three weeks now, though... I think maybe I hit my yearly word limit?

0 - 1 for Lit. It does not mean I don't write them, though. ;)

Ah, yes. Survivor. I signed up for that last year and then had a RL crisis (Kinda like a mid-life crisis, only different ;)) and didn't do anything else. I shelved more than 20 ideas and haven't gotten back to them yet. *Sigh* I knew better than to sign up this year.

Crossing my fingers and hoping it's feasible for next year. I really wanna play.

In the past twelve months I've written three stories, one of which I have yet to post as it's currently being edited. Shouldn't be long. My first was a story for last years Halloween contest and the end was rushed because I had started a new job that I was working seven days a week for twelve hours a day. Afterwards the work kept me busy that I didn't write anymore. I started up again in August and I'm hoping I can keep writing since I have several more ideas.

Sweet, sweet, Paint Pony, that's the same as writer's block in its own bitter way; the ideas are always chasing themselves like rats in my head, but I fail, like so many things, in the execution. Don't be me; write pretty pony, write. You're brilliant.

I wanna see you shine.
