AH writer's favorite categories

Aurora's "trademark" thread got me to thinking, no easy matter, about what categories we writer-types tend to favor. To the best of my knowledge, there's no right or wrong answer. Some folks only write in one category, others in just a few, while "survivor" types hit most of them.

So, as a writer, what is/are your favorite category(ies) and if you feel like sharing (or know) mention why.

Here's a list of the categories that have been (afflicted - inflicted - infected) with one or more of my stories. Like many Lit stories, several of these were mulit-category yarns, and a whole host of AH folks would argue that all of them should have been put in Non-Erotic.

As for "why" - for me sex is much more interesting when there's an emotional component. Most, but not all, of my stories have included one in some shape or form. It's easiest for me to do that in these categories.

Jett, just 'cause, I wrote one story, Mix and Match, just to see how many categories I could include. The final tally included: incest, group sex, interracial love, erotic coupling, first time, anal, lesbian sex, and romance. After some consultation with Laurel, it was dumped into the old catch-all, EC.

Favorite cat?

Favorite as far as responses go? That has to be Loving Wives, even though I only had the guts to write one story for it, and pounded it out one morning when I was hungover and mad. People keep reading it, and I get the most intense feedback imaginable, both pro and con. You gotta love a group that is that excitable about something, although you probably wouldn't want to invite them to your house for dinner or anything.

I think I've written in almost all of the categories, between me and my alts, in a constant search to find one I can do well.

The Erotic Horror is high because of the Halloween contests.

Many of the stories in the various categories could equally well be in Novels/Novellas because of their length. I think I prefer that category because it allows me to come back and add more episodes if the Muses want me to.

Perhaps Simulacre's comment in my signature is appropriate.
