Ah, the benefits of Socialism.

From link in OP.

"Venezuela is suffering a shortage of refined fuel, despite having the world's largest oil reserves."

The left is so fucked up and truly retarded they can't even wipe their own ass's with an army of slave labor at their disposal to help them.

But they have a Navy....

;) ;)

And giving the US stern warnings.

LOL.....I'm sure one of General Salami fan club (democrats) will be in here shortly to tell us how serious we better take that thread because if not Venezuela will come kill us all.

Uhhh...,

If they weren't hell-bent on defying civilized norms,
business would have built refineries there
but smart business knows, build it
and they will take it...

Still wondering what "socialism" has to do with any of this?

Nothing - of course.

The whole deal is bizarre beyond imagining.

So Iran, who has NO foreign currency reserve, is shipping refined product to Venezuela, who has NO foreign currency reserve. Both nations currencies are worthless. (Venezuela can't even afford to buy the paper to print their worthless currency on.)

There is at least one other party brokering this deal. Both China and Russia would love to have a Caribbean port. I'll take China for $200 Alex.

If I started a thread about the benefits of capitalism in Somalia in the 1990s, that thread and Ishmael's thread here would have about the same amount of intellectual honesty.

Venezuela nationalized it's oil industry. (socialism)

Destroyed it, then ruined the rest of it's economy.

Now despite have more oil than any other nation on the planet, they have to beg the Iranians for oil. Because they are too proud to admit "progress" hasn't worked out very well for them.

But don't let facts and reality keep you from living in total denial about the 100% fail rate of the economics you support.

Rob.....in denial as much as BND it seems, still trying to redefine the term to suit his partisan biases.

What?

The breeze don't blow there?

It ain't the Sargasso Sea off their coast...

:D ;) ;)

Auxiliary power could be a rower's galley full of reeducated middle class slaves under the command of a dictatorial Boatswain manning a kettle drum and a lash.;)

It's a wonder that they'll even let their Navy set sail...

:D

... it might end up in Cuba seeking asylum.

Good thing socialism worked for Roosevelt. Massive government spending, rules rules rules, and by golly, by 1938 economic growth was minus 3 percent and unemployment was a tad under 20 percent.
Just think of America's bright future under Joe "What's My Name?" Biden, especially if the Democrats control the House and Senate.

Remember, fairly recently, that when we would point out how socialism always fails, fans of socialism would tell us that voting for socialism like in Sweden (not actually powered by socialism) and Venezuela (powered by other people's infrastructure and vast oil reserves) makes it totally different.

"Their" enlightened version of Marxist ideology will.work! Because reasons.

Now, when you point to Venezuela (the country they held up as the model) that is suddenly not socialism.

They mean the magical kind, where you never run out of the ideas, innovation, infrastructure, and capital assets that were paid for by capitalists who were allocating capital to maximize greedy profits.

Who said any of those things?

I've been here 18 years and I believe that this post above is the first time I've ever seen the words "Ishmael" and "intellectual honesty" used in the same sentence.

*chuckle*

Clearly no one has ever pointed to a Socialism as working efficaciously...
There is no proper Socialist model, but if you and I and all the people
like us, just got the freak out of the way and let others create a
a true Socialism, then it would most certainly work, but it's
never really been tried before, ever, anywhere...,

;) ;)

Venezuela shows there is no amount of wealth, infrastructure, talent, education, and abundant natural resources that socialism cannot quickly lay waste to.
