AH Student's Thread

All my life I wanted to do something with animals. I really wanted to be a zookeeper, but my parents didn't like the idea, spouting that I wouldn't make any money doing that. Dad wanted me in business, and mom wanted me doing something in legal feild.

So I completed a degree for office management and got a dual degree as a paralegal essentially. They were both easy boring degrees and over lapped in classes so I graduated at the same time with both.

My parents, both sated, shut up. I did exceedingly well in all my classes, and passed with flying colors, and everything came easy to me.

I had a few jobs in the legal and office feild and I hate it. God I hate it all so terribly bad. It was SO DAMNED BORING. And then day in and day out, I hear people who want to sue someone over a damned broken fingernail. COME ON!!!

After my recent brush with death, I said that if I got through it, I would do something I love instead of what I was currently doing. Life is short, why hate it.

SO I decided to persue my life long dream of being a zookeeper. Now my parents agree that it's better to be happy and poor than rich and miserable. (no I never got rich in my profession).

At the prompting and encouragement of my current boyfriend, I have enrolled in College again. This time I am going for a biology degree (which the local zoo requires for the job I want) and away I go.

It's been a total pain in the ass trying to get back in school. I have been ran around 5 million ways to sunday.

Including them throwing out ALL of my A's from my previous degrees because they don't "apply" to my current program (you BASTARDS), a lovely round circle with the fact I can't take biology courses til I take a chem course, I can't take the chem course til I have the right math course, and I can't take THAT course until I get a previous math in!!! *gasps for air.

Also, I can't register for ANY english course, INCLUDING creative writing or literature (AHAHAHAHAHA you're kidding right? right? UGH) until I finish english 102. And all the fluff courses are filled, so I had to grab some random crap out of a hat so I could have a full semester so financial aid will cover me (ARGH)

AND the dean apparently wrote a book, so ALLLLLL of the students are REQUIRED to read it, and meet on it. (man I need to write a book for a college...)

But after much much stress, here's what I got:

Math 105 - pre-calculus
English 102
Geology 101 (shrugs, I like rocks!)
sociology 100 (blaaaah)

All of which are monday wednesday (man I'm goood).

Math I was worried about, but turns out he's a nice guy and most of my class is an on-line class (cheer)

My english teacher I was REALLY worried about because I have NEVER in the history of EVER gotten along with an english teacher. But she's actually a pretty nice lady.

Geology is in the same class room my mom had a major seizure in during a test (omen?)

and sociology is taught by a guy with a really thick accent. I'm going to have to sit really close to follow him. But hey he seems pretty decent.

So there. I'm a college student all over again o.o

help meeee

Yay you! :rose:

You'll do fine. You have to work and keep up, but the bottom line is that these classes are designed for people to pass them, not fail.

Part one of the assignment - DONE! Woo. Now just the 1000 word dissection of the newspaper article and I can relax til October.

Ya'll go!

Back in the day I finished college, worked a couple of years then went back for more. It was the weirdest experience sitting in a desk again, but it was worth it. In fact, I wish I'd had the stamina for even more! But now, the time and money don't add up for me. So persevere and (insert high falutin' university sounding word)!

spoke to a professor today, and we agreed for a date for my oral exam. well it's not final yet, because the other professor has to agree too, but after all this waiting finally things start moving.

means i should start studying for the exam now though.
