So, post number 6000:

That's a lot of time spent with you people. Has it been beneficial? Or am I avoiding real issues in my "real life"?

Answer: in a time of my life that has been primarily marked with turmoil, the influence of the AH has been a definite positive.

What's more, some of the people I have met here have become a major reason that there has not been more turmoil in my life. Many a rash action has been avoided and even though a few of you have had to deal with the side effects of knowing me and caring about me, you have not run away screaming.

Thank you.

The regular Belegon (maximus flirtamus) will now be allowed to return...

Sanity saver, most definitely.

I would have done something not so positive with my life at times if I didn't have this place.

Besides....where else could I flirt with a sexy highlander? ;)

Cloudy has saved my sanity many a day....LOL.

It's mixed for me....but everything is these days. However this has been a place of great support...I can't believe no one has told me to fuck off yet....and great fun...I get to insult people and laugh my ass off....where else can you do that?
I get to share in the lives of other people, meet people from all over the world and make wonderful friends.

This has been a great place, to save what sanity I may have, to feel part of a group that has no real label other than AH'er, to make friends who are just as messed up as I am, or even more so.

Plus I am reminded to get off my ass and write some now and again.

Now that's a nasty habit.

Word up, bel.

I don't think me sanity was in jeopardy before I found this place. But it has brightened my life. How could meeting. interacting with and befriending people with as much brains, heart, wit and spine as the ones we have here ever be a "nasty habit"?

Sanity Saver most of the time for me. I love the people here, sweet, sincere and so very caring oh and not to mention sexy and flirtastic!

Bel - congrats on the 6000, I know we don't cross paths often, but I enjoy it when we do :rose:

Hmmm...good question.

It's my sanity saver, my nasty habit and my place to go to flirt with the likes of you my Bel.... ;)

And please note that I used the word "MY" in front of each of these "places" - because this is what I do for me....no one else. It's mine...mine ~ all mine. :)

Congrats on your 6,000 posts...Now, how do we celebrate?

Sanity saver.

It would be impossible for me to fine so many intelligent, wise, good hearted people in a single place in the 'real world'.

This place got me off my duff and writing, which is a good thing.

I can flirt outrageously without someone calling the cops or gagging.

And I have a place to lean when I need it.

Thank you LadyC.

But the AH isn't real life. And most women in the real world find me too weird to be attractive.

Shame that I'm happily married...I've always found "weird" man more attractive than the "normal" ones. Normal is sooooo boring in my book.

Its definitely a sanity saving habit. I miss you all when I am not on and I feel curious about your lives when you guys aren't on. I come here b/c I can be a democrat and not be alienated and in my life thats treasure itself. I can flirt and be flirted without fear of reprisal and often times, I get flirted with in return. My confidence in myself is greater since I have been here. to steal a phrase from vella-la I lurve you guys:D

Yes to all of the above.

And a serious thank you to all of those who have listened to my heart, comforted me when needed, flirted as often as possible, offered sage advice for my problems or teased my senses with a naughty story.

You mean more than you know. :rose:

And Bel, I would like to know when your maximus flirtamus is coming out to play.

:cathappy:

Isn't there an opera called Der Flirtamus?

Actually, I believe you're thinking of Dom Fellatio. It's particularly notable for its use of a castrati in the title role, but only from the second act onwards. This makes it impossible to book anyone for more than a single performance; hence, revivals of this seminal work from the Reign of Terror are performed exceedingly rare.

Offered tidbits
Shared with others
A communal meal
Of moments
Past and present
Smiles with tears

Read the crying in his voice
Words crack emotion
Offered on two hands
That clench in fists
At a friend in distress

Raise a glass
With simple whiskey
Sharing warmth with words
And spirit.
