I always love seeing photos of countries where other's live (especially snow, as I've only seen it once), so I thought to start another thread about photos from everybody's pocket of the world. (you don't have to name exact area if you don't want).

I'll start. This is Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia, at dusk, in the winter.

Pick may not work, so here is the image:

Thanks for sharing guys.

We don't have an autumn where I live - hot and hotter - so I love fieryjen's tree!

Thanks Cant for telling me they are in colour - despite that, it's both extremes, dark and light. Those branches are incredble.

Nero - love that pic. Very gothic and romantic!

Rob - can you fish there, or is ducks they are feeding?

Mich, to give you an idea how different lighthouses are across the world (or not), I'll post one too!

3113 - it's like 2 photos merged into one, jungle and city.

Jag - thanks for sharing. I don't know if we are able to take pics of bases over here, so that's great to see.

Sarah, the church is so quaint. :rose:

Mat - it all looks so open and vast, and if there was a big thunderstorm, there is no where to hide

Trysail - I would add 'in' to 3113's comment - which fish are you in?

Byron Bay, New South Wales. And no, we don't call everything 'bay'!

I've seen people fishing. I'm not sure how legal it is.

On that particular bay I've seen mallard ducks, pintails, loons, a harlequin duck one, a cormorant once, Canada geese (Lots of Canada geese) and we had a family of swans there this year.

The shit hawks aren't as bad as they used to be. Shit hawks are what we call gulls and until recently washing a car was an exercise in futility.

Great pictures, Sarah. Okay, so maybe I should know this, but I don't...which bridge is that?

It's the Mackinac Bridge - between Upper and Lower Michigan. Five miles long and makes me homesick whenever I see it.

Wishful - my parents were married in that church. It's lovely inside, too.

:rose:

I thought that's which one it was, but I wasn't quite sure and didn't want to make a fool of myself. I've seen plenty of pictures of it, but I don't think I've ever been there, at least not in my 'adult' life. My parents took us to Mackinac one year when we were kids and I vaguely remember it.

NOTE TO OTHERS: In case you didn't know........Mackinac is pronounced Mackinaw (Many people will spell it the way it sounds)

Yep.

And pastie is pronounced "PAST-eee" not PAY-stee.

It's very easy to tell a fudgie in the U.P.
