hardly surprising that his son was deeply pissed about being put in that position: if it HAD been a gov't thing, he would have been seen as a hostile target and probably shot dead.Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes allegedly made his son, Dakota, guard his younger siblings with a rifle when they played outside and, in a paranoia-fueled incident when Dakota was 16, forced the boy to wear full body and patrol their house with a gun while the rest of the family fled.
“Stewart became convinced that a power outage was a pending governmental raid and ordered Dakota to don full body armor with a rifle as the family fled their home in the middle of the night, anticipating an attack,” according to court documents obtained by Raw Story.
The documents reveal he frequently put a gun to his son's head during arguments, made his children carry knives with them everywhere because “that they were going to be raped or dismembered if they were unable to defend themselves,” and seemed unaware that two of his homeschooled children were unable to read despite his claims of teaching them 'history, geography and the Greek classics'.
He claims abuse as a child made him depressed and a sex addict; that can't explain why his family was unable to access regular health care. His daughter cut the tip of her finger off (one might assume it was with the knife he insisted she carry everywhere) and the only help accessed for her was some midwife over the phone for 'a minor finger'.
His son Dakota's biggest fear now is that rhodes might get a presidential pardon if trump (or one of the other maga-types) wins the next election.
