as our story begins I am riding on the back of my nightmare, Poison, down the darkened street of modern day England when my eyes fall upon a castle that seems to loom over the land.

"There it is Poison, our home." I say half expecting him to answer

as I continue towords the castle at a steady pace a take in my present position. I was in an abandond old town with shadows hanging over all manor of structure, even on the brightest of days. Something about it all just seemed off, and as I took in the dank dead air of the night in this town I caught onto a scent drifting in the air. I knew then that I was not alone and my horse became alittle restless.

"Easy girl, we are almost there. we will be safe at the castle." I say patting her head to calm her.

I watched waiting in the tower library waiting the arrival of my old friend. I had watched his place while he was gone and had many times before. Here i stayed most of the time putting the records down from my memory and into the pages of thes old leather bound books.

Something was off about tonight though. something dark.

In the distance I could sense his pressence getting closer. I always could feel him coming. This pressence was not at all human. no scent of life could be traced but he was full of it.

I left the table from where I had been writing. this was all exciting. Maybe I could add his hirtory to the grand collection. Never had he told me before and now i was running low on things to put in the pages.

As I ran from the library i grabbed a long velvet cloak to cover the thin fabric of my dress as I ran to greet him at the gates. There i stood in the archway of the castle holding a lamp to lead him in from his ride.

Going from room to room I light the candles that adorn my walls. It will not be long now before my girls have to entertain. Such lovely girls they are. The best of all the lands.

The Guilded Lily is the best of the city. Many clients come here, longing for that which they could not get, and I provide for them. It is true that we do not just deal in the missionary positions of life, but in all walks of life. After all, you can't become the best by name alone.

A knock startles me out of my daydreaming. Surly that is Mr. DuBouis here for his weekly confession to Alise. I guess his sins are only easily blessed bye her loins.

"Bonkour, Monsuier DuBouis." I say opening the door. "Would you like to....." I trail off feeling a presense int he air that I have not felt before.

"Madame DeMonee, are you okay?"

Blinking I phase back into reality. "Oh, yes." A smile crossing my face a true temptress could envy. "Come in, Alise awaits you in her room."

I contiue looking out the door, wondering what is waiting in that night. What is coming? What to fear?

Michael (Hybrid form)

Strange...

I turn, sniffing the air. What is that? I look back to the Gathering, nobody else seems to have noticed. Everyone was too busy drinking or dancing or whatever to feel...whatever it was. My hair stood on end as I loped to a rocky outcropping where I could see almost everything. I looked down towards the city, where all of the sleeping mortals lay.

That far? Could it possibly be THAT far away and still give me a feeling of...what is it...dread?

"Michael," a voice called from behind me. I turned, unleashing a loud, vicious growl at her. She cowered away immediately. Stupid Kin. I watched her back away towards the Gathering and I made my way to the city.

"Have you felt it. This lingering feeling, it is like a cloud of death," I say to my old friend as I reach the gates.

"We must remain on gaurd, I fear for the worst," I continue as I send Poison to the stables and head inside.

As the light faded, shadows engulfed the city. They covered up the cracks, embedded themselves in back alleys, and destroyed what was left of the day.
The fallen hero walked his horse out at nightfall, entering the city now. It felt better in the dark, more comforting. He had waited for the jaws of night to eat up the castle entrance, where peasants and merchants were doing their ending business.
He would do his ending business too.
In the thick of light, almost unnoticable except for the click of hooves from his horse, and the jingle of weapons at his side, Delaine moved through the streets like a quiet plague.
Speckled piece of dirt and mud covered the horse, from long walks in unfavorable places, and sprints down valleys and through rivers. The horse looked tired and desperate, as if seeking a way to escape the rider that humbled it.
this was a powerful charger though, bred for battle and even worse. It would be unimaginable to see such a brave animal like that fearful of the man that stood atop it.
Delaine would have to get a new horse soon.
A long cloak lay like fine woven silk around him. It was made from horrid burlap, and ripped in several places, but it appeared as if it fit him especially, and when he walked, it followed his every contour in almost perfection.
Two weapons were visible, the others only showed as tiny bulges in his cloak. A long sword, and something shorter, more curved. Their sheath's reached under his cloak, peeking out behind him, as if it were his tail.
A bow was on the horse, and several other swords, daggers, and weapons of choice. Provisions and equipment for weeks of travel alone were also there. This man was a loner, a ranger, a warrior who had long since lost his faith in the fellow man.
Something was in the air though. Delain stopped long enough to take a nice big breath.
Oh yes, something was in the air, almost calling to him. Was it calling others too? Would they all come here, tonight? For some reason?
Who would call for him?
He stopped at the local inn, letting his horse rest, and going inside for a mug of ale.
Who was it?

"I wonder, just what manor of beings will be drawn out to my home by this strange presance." i say half to myself as i walk down my halls with Merlina.

Merlina

"I do feel it. Mostly I felt it as I came to greet you" I wandered with him throught the halls of the castle leading him with the soft candle light fro the lamp. Down the corridors we wend till we reached the sitting room where the fire was lit.

"Come my friend and sit. may i get you something to eat. You must be exaughted after you journy"

"No, thank you. Just a cold ale." I say to her, "So you want to add my story to your collection."

Merlina

"Your going to tell me your tale?" I was shocked. He had so avoided my questioning so many years before. "Yes I would love to add yours to the collection.Let me go and grab everything an d bring it here. I also need a dirnk for myself. i'll be right back."

Quickly i ran up the stairs that led to the tower quickly grabbing a large emtpy book, a quill and a bottle of ink and headed back down the stairs. there i set it on the chair before heading to the cellar to retrieve a challace of ale for him and one full of the nights kill for myself. On my way i was careful not to spill a drop as i handed him the glass and took my seat by the fire.

Quickly I took a drink of the scarlet liquid. The taste was not as fresh as I liked but it had to do. I refused to hunt the living, i just gathered from the dying. then it was time.

"I'm ready when you are."

"I must warn you, the tale of mine is more then horific," I say with a glare in my eye, "Are you sure you are ready."

As i stand atop the roof of the old abandoned church i see nothing at all but an empty delapadated town.

Looking for a fun time finally something begins to come down the road. A cloaked figure riding down the road on a horse.

"So it is true the one who was here for it all, the creator of dragons does live around this shithole. Looks like i may be able to have some fun after all" i think to myself.

I slowly open my wings and fly off toward a castl in the distance.

"Although it may be awile befor I can tell you," I say as I stand up, "It seems some company will be ariving soon." I say as I move to one of the giant windows in the room and open it wide.

I had not anticipated going to England. Last time I was in Europe I was storming beaches. I shrug the memories away as the fog begins to take hold of the city. It felt a little odd to be wearing an Armony suit in the dank ally.

It had been quite some time since I had even spoken to my long time aquatences, Merlina and Spike Crow. I tended to keep to my family. That is why I am still considered a bedtime story.

Mary landed next to me soundlessly from the rooftops. "I am sorry I am late, Lord Deus. Lisa wanted to tease our meal." Her pure blue eyes showed her innocence.

Lisa landed next to her twin sister, wiping a trickle of blood from her chin. She smiled rougefully. "Hush. I just wanted to add some fear and lust to his taste." Her green eyes were full of mischief.

"Are the two of you satisfyed now?" I asked the unique pair.

"Yes, Master," they cheered in unison.

"Good." I turned and continued walking. The girls flanked me, each taking an arm.

Very strange.

What was it that was pulling me here. I reached a street leading into the city and I momentarily came back to my senses. Why am I so close to the city in my hybrid form. I don't even really remember leaving the Gathering. Jessica, she was there, I remember that. Hell, I asked her to go. She's going to be so mad at me, I thought as I shifted to my full wolf form. I padded through the night, looking for a place to get some clothes. Finding an unattended clothes line (how many people actually do their laundry at night...) I took a white button up shirt and a pair of black pants. Shifting again into my human form I got dressed. I was somewhat upset that there were no shoes around, but no matter.

Walking through the city I find one of many shoe stores. I bust through the plate glass window and take what I want. A nice pair of boots would be perfect. The heavy ones, with the steel toes...

Now, to find out what is the source of the unusual, almost gravitational pull of that weird castle. The thought of it made my skin crawl as I trudged along towards it.

Walking alone along a dark ally is a young man with long flowing blonde hair and a beautiful cream white skin. No blemishes or marks obscure his body and as the wind blows it almost appears to make him seem even more unnaturally beautiful. His cool blue eyes take in the ally that surrounds him and he frowns at the trash along the walls. Sadness permeates from him as if he was trying to find his way out of an endless labyrinth and has given up the will to continue the search.

In a blink of an eye he was cast out of Heaven and fell to the city where he now wonders aimlessly looking for a way to fill the void that lies within his heart. Love… That is what mortals call it, but how could such a thing that brings light to their eyes and makes their heart sing while also leaving this strange void.

With a sigh, he wonders on daring to pray that he would find something to fill that void and make him whole again.

as I look out over this rechid place. This god forsaken town that I had long since called the city of the damned. My eyes seemed to pinpoint several new arivals.

"Come out, come out, where ever you are," I say softly, my words ecoing in the ears of all who dwelled here, "I'll be waiting."

as I finish talking I let out a long dark laugh that ecos over the town like a wave of sorrow.

A cold shiver ran up his spine as he walked out into the cold night once more. It felt like death's fingers grabbing for him, just missing by inches. It was a familiar feeling, so close to death, but one he did not enjoy in the least.
With a mug of ale inside him, giving him a nice warm feeling in his gut, he walked across the street, heading for the Guilded Lily.
That is the place the bar tender spoke of, a place of women and fancy.
It would be the perfect place to start. Most creatures of the night visited such easy prey, or knew enough about the people of the town to know what was going on.
A smart girl, with sharp eyes and a quiet tongue, that was all he needed.
As Delaine stepped inside, he looked across the faces of such young and innocent girls, those who weren't so young, or so innocent. A variety of vixens, each with their own kindness.
Something stirred within him, an old human emotion he hadn't been able to rid himself of. Fear, hate, and sex, the three he could never satisfy.
"I want to speak with the mistress of the house," His voice low, but full of a lapsed power. Wandering eyes took a look at every person in the room, never staying on one for too long at one time.
He did have business to attend to, after all.

"Madame DeMonee, there is a man wishing to see you." one of my asian beauties says, beckoning me to the stateroom. "He is very handsome." Her eyes tell me she wishes to be his tonight, if that is what he longs for.

I pick up the candle, petting the flame, a pleasurable gasp escaping my crimson lips. "Well, let's not keep him waiting." I smile, reassuring her, that if the choice is made by me, she will have her wish. "Let's go."

Walking down the hall, a warning is calling to my veins. This one does not wish to keep balance between the lives in the world. Be aware, Is all it says.

My beauty was not incorrect in her talks of him. He was handsome. His hair fell lovingly to his shoulders. I always did have a thing for long hair. I couldn't see what he was wishing for, which was odd. I am usually a fairly good judge of character.

"Hello, Monsuier. My name is Madame DeMonee, but please call me Lecrutia. How may WE help you?" I say, waving my hands towards my girls.

As i closed in on the castle i saw a large open window. It seems that i was expected. Not willing to fly in blind I needed a plan and then noticed a women walking around. Knowing a better oppurtunity would not come I took action.

I flew into the room quickly grabbing the girl. I stood in front of spike my wings cloaking my sheild. As he took an ofensive stance i unfolded my wings reveiling my trump card.

"Not so fast, we don't want her getting hurt now and I am not to keen on dying right now. " i said.

"I can't beleive my luck such a pretty girl, she looks good enough to eat" i say nibbling on her neck while secretly charging a energy bolt in case he did attack.

coming out of my offensive stance, I walk calmly to my large, throne like, armchair made from te bones of dragons and demons alike with cusions bound in dragon hide. As I take a seat in I begin to talk in a very calm voice that is almost erie.

"Now now, none of that. I have been expecting you. Please, have a seat. Your just in time t hear of how i came to be." I say, looking her in the eye the whole time.

"Now, if you'd be so kind," I continue, jesturing towords Merlina, causing her to fly free from he captures arms and land softly on a vacant sofa.

"See, I can do tricks too." I say with a devious grin.

I had always hated being what I was. these demons could just toss me around like a feather. I sat on the couch as and annoyed look came over my face at the newcomer. With that I picked my books up again to await his tale.

"I'm ready to begin." i was ready for his story and to add it to written history.

"Oh, Spike, do you know if Deus Noctus will appera tonight? His knowledeg is one I would like to know." I stood and moved to sit on the stool next to his chair letting my back rest against him.

"I expect so. He has already arrived in town. Oh, and I must stress how important it is that you do not show this volume of your collection to anyone." I say with a firm look in my eye.
