I've not yet posted on Literotica. I have a female dominant BDSM story to publish, but I'm concerned that it may be rejected. All characters are over 18. In one chapter, the characters dress up as femmes fatale from history as well as their victims. This was not allowed on another site. The other site had these limits:

Characters must be 17 or older.
Current or past celebrities may not be mentioned.
Historical characters may not be mentioned.
Fictional characters may not be mentioned. This meant I couldn't post a story that began in a modern literature class discussing Homer's Iliad. If anyone's in the public domain, it's Homer.

I've been unable to find a similar list for Literotica. Does one exist? Can you please direct me to it?

Finally, this is the most difficult to navigate site I can recall. Is it really as difficult to search as it seems or am I missing something? I'd like to search for an author, but all I see is a 14 page alphabetized list that won't extend and doesn't reach much beyond H as I recall. No search box? No search Authors?

Please help me out. I feel the site is basically unusable, so I suspect I'm missing something.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

To search, go ye to https://www.literotica.com/stories/ and look for the "Search Members"/"Search Stories" buttons. Something that can cause confusion: the site has a "stories" side and a "forum" side that are partly but not wholly integrated, perhaps you were looking for that info on the forum side?

The content you're talking about should be fine here, unless any of those over-18s are pretending to be younger.

Best way to search for an author (or any member) is to go to this search option which is located about three-quarters the way down this page and basically serves as a site map. Use the "member search" as the "author search" tends to get a little wonky at times.

Like any site that is new to someone, Lit has its own quirks and tricks. And granted it has some age on it, but it is actually pretty easy to learn.

Welcome and enJoy!

My interpretation of Lit's rules:

Characters on Literotica do not have to be over 18 BUT they must be 18 or over before having explicit sex that is described. "I was raped at 14" is OK as an explanation of why a character is reluctant to have sex. Describing that rape is not. Characters who are said to be over 18 but are described as younger with 'budding breasts' etc. are not allowed. Children as characters in the plot e.g. "We couldn't make love that evening. The kids wouldn't go to bed." are acceptable.

Current or past celebrities go into the Fan Fiction category.

Historical characters? No problem.

Fictional characters? No problem but if the work they are taken from is still covered by copyright, e.g. X-Files characters, they too should be in the Fan Fiction category.

Fictional characters from earlier times? No problem e.g. Dickens' Oliver Twist, Shakespeare's characters - But WARNING - Juliet is TOO young for Literotica - you could write about what happens if they didn't die and married on her 18th birthday.
