Recently I received two very flattering (three actually) feedback emails regarding my "single" poem Afterglow. I am responding here to KATPURRS and RISIA SKYE. Though you sent me anonymous emails, not leaving me with your actual email that I could respond to, at least you left your (names?).
Anyway...I thought I would "publicly" THANK YOU here then instead. I really did appreciate the critique, (Yes Risia, it does have some "flaws" but I was "excited" when I first wrote it...(lol) so I'm not surprised.
I have written well over a hundred poems or more throughout my life, though having only submitted the one single poem here as most of my poetry was non-erotic. I think that writing poetry to begin with was the catalyst for eventually becoming a "Story Teller."
As I don't consider myself a "writer"....(and some of you might agree with that...lol) I feel a "writer" knows his stuff, grammer, spelling, punctuation...all the tools. And in that, I confess I make some stupid mistakes. So....I call myself more of a story teller at the moment, and in that light, hope that people enjoy reading the stories I tell....rather than my skills as a "writer" at the moment.
I can still recall the very first poem I wrote back in the 8th grade, which I now fondly look back on and thank my English teacher back then for getting me interested in poetry to begin with...and later (much later) story telling.
And in case your interested....here's my very first poem ever, and obviously it reflects my age at that time. But here it is:
TIME
Time is the ringing of a clock chime.
Time is the unlocking of a mysterious rhyme.
Time is the future, the present, the past.
Time is the one thing that forever will last.
Ok it's short sweet and simple. But then....so was I.
LOL.......
