Read a piece the other day that held that those in uncompetitive states should, as a matter of principle, vote third party just to keep the other two on their toes.

I have long held that the majority of the United States are actually fairly libertarian. The problem is Amercans want certain liberties for themselves, but do not allow others their desired liberties. You can't do liberty ala carte. Liberty is either a good idea or it isn't.
