This article is two years old. I remember it going around back then. The doctor in question does extraordinary work in all sorts of pediatric surgery-- amazing, life saving stuff. As I recall, this story was pretty much fabricated out of rumors and anger.

There is really no need to bring every huffpost and alternet article to AH, we can read them there.

Good Point Stella. I thought it a distressing story, but had not the range of knowledge of the AH. I thought that by posting my odd finds that I might spark a conversation that would lead me to greater understanding.

I only included this one because of the subject matter touches personal choice, sexual trauma, and a number of other very powerful taboos. Not the kind of thing you'd expect would interest writers, I guess.

As I said before the AH has become "GB lite" people don;t want to post over there because its pretty volatile over there.

Case you haven't noticed it gets that way over here as well.

This should be escapism.

To prove your point I just logged into yahoo and one of the first things that pop up is a blurb about the India Gang rape. The father wants them hung. I'd want them drawn and quartered, but hey that's just me.

Point is you see that your blood immediately goes from 0-60 then I come here and its a story about girls being mutilated.

This forum needs a moderator desperately and one with the balls to begin moving threads to where they belong.

Some people campaigned for that back in 08, when AH had really turned into GB cesspit number two. We were insulted and mocked for it. There was talk of "censorship!" and "Forum nazis!!!" et al, ad nauseum, et cetera.

Some people who were screaming and mocking have changed their tune since then -- but it's still not going to happen.

I would like to respectfully request of JackLouis, -- and others-- to either refrain from posting random news articles, or else to take the time and make the effort to explain why he thinks it's worth bringing to a porn writers' forum, and what discussion he wants to have about it.

I promise that I will try harder to do the same.

The thing that really sucks is once the threads are here, no matter how much you tell yourself you should refrain, you just get sucked in, I am very guilty of that and get pissed at myself all the time.

as for being a "forum nazi" I don't understand that there is an entire forum for current events politics, but people are "afraid" to go there. THis is a writers forum. They have done a good job getting the editors forum back on track, all it took was the mods getting involved

Personally, I'd have thought that another thread for such 'non-writerly' matters as arise would be a good idea. The AH is where we should discuss line spacing and alternative words for pussy.
