Senior House Democrats signaled Friday that they may not certify the 2024 election results if former President Donald Trump wins, according to The Atlantic.

During oral arguments earlier this month to consider a Colorado ruling finding Trump ineligible for the ballot under the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban,” the Supreme Court did not appear persuaded that a single state should be able to remove him, though it is unclear whether the justices will address the eligibility question directly. Depite criticizing Republicans who voted against certifying President Joe Biden’s victory in 2020, several senior Democrats who spoke to The Atlantic reportedly left open the possibility of not certifying a Trump 2024 victory if the Supreme Court does not clearly rule on his eligibility.

Democratic California Rep. Zoe Lofgren told the Atlantic she believes Trump is “clearly ineligible” but said the process of challenging it is “very murky.” She said “there’s no procedure, per se, for challenging on this basis,” according to the outlet.

Nevertheless, Lofgren said she “might be” among the legislatures who would seek to disqualify him.

That is exactly how it works, that is how it was applied when Congress removed Victor L. Berger. Maybe study American history so you won't look so fucking stupid all the time.

It's meaningless noise. The D's have their panties bunched and are screaming that the apocalypse is coming if Trump wins (as it looks increasingly likely he will).

The media is playing the situation for clicks and cash too. It's just noise.

Meaningless noise, much like the thread you started. A Democrat 'mused' that she 'might' not support certification of Trump's potential win and you write D's have bunched panties and scream about an apocalypse coming. That's a long leap from mused to Trump's likely winning - more like whining. It's political grandstanding, I think you have said when R's have blustered the same sentiments. However, they did vote not to certify, in fact.

Your view is just noise on a lower scale.

Trump lost the last election with much less legal baggage in his wagon. I doubt, when it comes down to actual voting, Americans will select him. His rants are becoming more confusing, and his 'on day one I'll ....' isn't longer humorous. The press is doing an adequate job of pointing that out - yes, for cash - not noise. It's a business after all with some bias of course - just like political parties - free speech comes to mind.

He has his base - not enough to swing the voting - unless the cry of 'rigged election' again sends people into the 'overthrow' the government mode.

That's how it was working in 2020 as well, when you decided to wet your pants and claim "insurrection!" The Democrats have contested every Republican presidential victory that I can remember.

I, for one, look forward to your interesting takes on American politics as well as stories of you and trump's affinity for sexualizing the flag.
 
First no Democrats have contested a Republican election the way J6 did. It turns out that Gore was robbed and I don't recall him bitching years later, not even weeks later FFS and Bush's second term wasn't contested at all. He won pretty handily that year. Even Trump where we have every reason to believe if not the Russians than the Chinese interfered nobody stormed the capitol or was still complaining about THAT years later.

Now if you want to count bitching about the EC we kinda do that along with Congress year round because it is never not relevant.
