Stop being honest and start lying your ass off. Get a picture of some lesser known male model as your AV. Say you're a doctor or lawyer or something or the sort, nothing extravagant, but someone who makes good money. Say you're married, even if you aren't. Accept ALL things at face value and never get too deep or negative or real. Start an AMpics thread and post nudes, not necessarily of yourself.

I played the battle of the sexes thread A LOT.
Now I'm trying for more of a quality over quantity.
Depends on what you are fishing for. If you are looking for something cheap and meaningless, then do as Nevyn says. Otherwise, just accept that it's an uphill battle.
Well I am looking for long term friendship with people, not a short term thing. I did that too much when I was younger and don't care for it anymore.
I also decided that the net is way too shallow to make it more so by contributing to it by lying myself, so I just won't do it.
BTW evryone I am actually married, I am studying in a career that will make me lots of money (psychology), even though that isn't the reason I am doing it of course.

I'm a girl, so I think lit is easier for me. That being said, get to know people by playing games, posting on the boards in group threads and getting an avatar. People will get to know you and you'll start to make friends.
The Playground is a great place to start. I started in Fet Central and the General board, which is a little ruthless. Word games can help with your post count so you can get an av. A lot of people dismiss users with low post counts.
Also, I don't know how well the personals work, but I don't typically look at them. You may be broadcasting to the wrong audience.
