I am looking for advice on how to get an editor for my next story I will be submitting on the site. The first four I did on my own with the guidance of the initial screening. They were submitted but have found after the fact by some nice and not so nice commentators, that I need some correction on sentence structure and a couple of other areas. I sent a few emails to some of the volunteer editors but never heard back. If anyone has some suggestions , I would appreciate the help.

Oh gosh, it's hard at first. You should post this in the "Editors Forum."
-If I was any good at editing I'd help.
-However I'm sure someone might still come along on this thread

There is a sticky thread at the top of the Editor's forum listing editors who have declared availability during the current month. That's a more likely place to start seeking an editor than the pretty-much-defunct, not-updated-in-years Volunteer Editor program.

First, go to the editor's forum and look under the sticky for available editors. That is updated on a monthly basis. If that fails, start a thread in that forum requesting help. Be sure to mention the type of editing you seek, the length of your story, and the category.

Indeed. Also, if you (OP) use cloud storage, you could include a link to the text so potential editors can see what they're up against, er I mean, see if they might be interested in chopping your words.

Chopping? I'll show you a chop, that's vulgar.

Not without knowing the topic and the length--or without the understanding that it's a one-time deal and not part of a series.

Please forgive this one, but should that be:-

Pilot, I've heard that you're a good editor.

I'm never quite sure about American word use.

I suggest this, DONT BE A SELF-ABSORBED ASSHOLE WHO CANT HANDLE HONESTY. Most LIT writers are graduates of the SELF ESTEEM TRUMPS SKILL SCHOOL with hide so thin its transparent.

No, you are right. Even in the US you're right. But it is a common, very common mistake here on Lit.

Editor's Forum is the place for your request. A few words of advice. Be realistic in your expectations and have a good idea if you need a line edit or content edit. Line editing is for picky details, content is for scope, structure, story development, etc.
