Ok guys I have a problem. I used to work for a company that sold adult novelty products via party plan, so here I m thinking that these sort of things don't embarrass me at all - wrong!
Its time to renew some of our toys, so off I trot to a few local adult stores for a look.....the thing is the staff are all men....I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination but I hate it when i am browsing while being literally followed around the store - I was even proposistioned twice!!!
I don't have a credit card, so is there any way I can buy these products without having to go into a shop? Are all adult stores staffed by leches or am i just unlucky? I like the idea of being able to browse around and have a look, my hubby won't come with me so I feel sort of vunerable going by myself.
Any ideas?

Most adult sex toy sites offer other forms of payment besides credit cards. You might try some of the more popular ones like www.adameve.com. I'm sure there are a ton out there. Also, most banks off you a Cash/Credit card for you checking account. It works the same as a credit card, but it comes directly out of your checking account, kind of like if you wrote a check. If you had one of those, you could use it as a credit card on the adult sex toy sites.

I will have a look at the site you suggested P.B.Walker, but in my experience most of the sites on the net are American ones and as I live in Australia it makes it sort of difficult to buy from there.

Back when I was young I used to pay for mail order by sending checks. I think those still work, the only problem is the delayed gratification is twice as long. Sometimes the wait is worth it though.

But I do know what you mean, I went in a store last year that was quite and fine. When I took my wife in there one afternoon while walking in the neighborhood, what do you know but there was some creepy salesMAN who freaked her out. Never again.

Yes it is a real bummer, why don't these stores hire decent staff? Some female staff behind the counter would be great, I mean the stores near me have two sales MEN but no woman....yet a lot of the products are for woman - go figure.

As for the shop, if hubby won't go, take a friend along .... an girls " outing " if you please.

As for the creepy sales men .... a withering look as well as something along the line of " Did I give permission for you to address Me ? " does quite nicely for me. It usually stops them dead in the water, especially when I wander over to the whip and handcuff section. LOL

You might also try finding a more uhmm upscale sex shop. We have one here near where I live. I'd never been in it until a lady friend was in town visiting me (she was just a friend. lol). She wanted to go in there. It wasn't like the shops you described with the creepy guys lurking around. I was kinda suprised. It was mostly couples in there. All the staff were women. Some hot women if you ask me. The lady that came to help us was really cool. She had several piercings on her face, which kinda turned me on. Anyway. She offered to show my friend how certain toys worked and even pulled them out of their boxes, put batteries in them, and turned them on for us.

It was a very pleasant experience. Nothing creepy about it at all. There were several women alone in there also. But mostly couples. I didn't see one single guy in there at all. Course, this was a weekend afternoon, so maybe we weren't there at the right time.

Wow, why don't we have shops like that here? Within a reasonable distance from my home there are 4 adult stores, all with men serving.
Adult stores are only new here at the moment, they were illegal up until about 2 years ago in my state - I guess it will take the owners a few more years to trig onto the idea that just because we shop there doesn't mean we want to be ogled while we browse.

I have only gone into two stores. One was worked by a man, but he was rather funny, and wasn't even really paying attention to us at all. I took my friend with me both times. The second place, it was an all female sales team. Apparently, their policy is to serve women, with women, to make us feel more comfortable.

Try ordering catalougs on line, then you can send in a money order, or sometimes a check, along with the order.

There are tons of adult stores on line and some of them are really great. I never go into the stores because of way some of their clerks treat me. I'm 64 and they treat me like some kind of pervert. all of the sex shops i've been in have been pretty nice.

in virginia i've been to two near richmond. one is owned by two gay guys who are really friendly and are great about giving suggestions on the great products in the store, which is strangely located in a run of the mill strip mall. the other just had women working there and it had a lot of clothes.
i've also been to one in va beach...the one that advertises on the radio ALL the time. the people seem young and kind of cold, but they have a good selection.

I made my husband take me on a field trip. We visited a few adult stores. Some you could smell the Hexol trying to cover up what and I wasn't even comfortable with him standing next to me. But one, ah, it is something else. I am very comfortable going in by myself.

It is not recommended to use your debit card as a credit card on-line. It doesn't usually have the same guarantees as most credit cards and if you were hit by someone with shady business practices or were hacked you could lose it all. There are prepaid credit cards for the net.
