I hadn't done the whole chat thing for quite a while. When I was bored last week I took a peek in at Yahoo.

OMG....I can't believe some of the shit I was asked to do or the names of some of the rooms. I think I'm pretty open minded. But..my mind was opened further.

Does anyone go to these kinds of rooms frequently?

What annoys you the most? Turns you on the most?

I used to, then I decided no one was over 16, they couldn’t spell ( I don’t mind the occasional typo or spelling error but come on.) And your right some of the things they ask you to do. Well! Then what’s even worse is they don’t have the imagination to actually do the things they’ve asked you to.

I've gone into adult chat rooms a few times when I was bored. Between the constant bombardment of "come see my cam" bullshit and guys messaging immediately with the bad come on lines (and worse spelling), I don't know what's more annoying. The rooms do nothing for me so I usually head to a game room instead.

I thought I was pretty jaded by things on the web but, after I saw rotten.com and almost puked one day, I changed my mind really quick. I can still be shocked by some things, so I guess there is hope for me yet.

I have a regular room that I go to quite often. although the room is an adult chat room quite a few of us are there just to chat and have a good time. Of course there are the usual people that come out for nothing but the sex and those that think it is their job in life to insult everyone they can. We usually ignore them unless we decide to have a bit of fun with them.

The content freaks me out. I went to one and they actually had bestiality pics and things that were more repulsive. I feel sort of bad for these folks and I got an infection from them too. The lit version is okay, but no one can spell and many of the guys are not very inventive.

Yahoo just seemed like a meat market. 1000's of people all chatting and you're supposed to find one or two to talk to? No thanks. I haven't been there for years though, so things may have changed, but it doesn't sound like it.

I've never been in an adult chat room for more than 5 minutes tops. I just find them so boring with very little intelligent conversation going on. While I realize the purpose is to chat in them, I'd prefer at least a little time to lurk and find out what the community is like rather than immediately being jumped with "a/s/l" or "wanna do it?" or a load of private messages from people I've never encountered before.

And as has been mentioned here already, I don't like "chat-ese". Everytime I see someone writing that, "y r u here?" garbage, I have to wonder if they turn their English papers in to their teachers like that -- and then hope they aren't receiving passing grades.

The only chat rooms that I've enjoyed were connected to games I've played, though they can become more "adult" in nature from time to time I guess I'm more comfortable chatting with friends than strangers.

I tried yahoo and msn once....and absolutely hated them.
I do chat, but at a couple of smaller sites where a/s/l, and private messages without first asking are absolutely taboo. And even though it's an "adult-oriented site", people actually do know how to converse, and even spell.
Oh and by typing /float, you can usually cut out those nasty ads

The chat room I frequent Private Messages without permission will get you one of two things. Either the person will embarass you in the room by letting everyone know, or the person will get his ass chewed by someone else.

I go into lit chat. I hang out in the tub and most of the regulars are articulate adults with brains, thankfully. In the lounge too, most of them are cool and we have fun talking.

But before I got to this point yes there were people who pm'd me and wanted me to not only do a dog cyber but do one in real too! There is good and bad with everything. All I can say is redline is a wonderful thing. The cm's are also awesome and do a great job of keeping the peace and making sure things don't get ugly.

I agree with you about Lit chat. It was a lot nicer group of people. I would just meet a couple people there in the mornings to chat. I miss that.
