For non lactating women to spontaneously start, it will take a great amount of effort and likely some hormones/drugs. For women already lactating, production is based on supply and demand. Either way a significant commitment would be required by both in the relationship to explore the possibilities.

I hope it wasnt a duct blocked by a cyst. When you have no active feeding children of breast milk, and have since dried up for a significant amount of time ( years) then you should see a doctor. It could be a bad thing. Not to rain on your parade.

I enjoyed breast milk when my kids were younger, not salt at all but a bit sweet. I understand that you can stimulate milk production, especially if you have had kids already. It's easy enough to find the information online.

I can't imagine why a man wouldn't at least want to give it a try if his partner is lactating. I still enjoy suckling . . .

Some men (and women) are that way. My girlfriend has said that her first husband wouldn't even touch her boobs while she was lactating. It's a damned shame, IMHO.

You can relactate using a pumo reguerly and medication called domperidone or similar from the doctor. It's very hard work though and you need to be very comited.
I recently stopped breastfeeding but weas never interested in involving my parter in this way but I suppose theres no harm in it if it does it for you!

it's been 12 yrs . and we starter to used domperidone and with in two weeks of sucking and playing we started to get milk.

Lets just say that I wouldn't say no if the Mr wanted to suckle a bit. He will touch them though. I think he actually quite likes it. I just don't know if I could breastfeed someone who wasn't my husband and then breastfeed my daughter. I think I would feel weird. I have sold and do sell breastmilk from time to time though. I think most of the men view it as "safe", like they aren't cheating since there is no contact.

Muffandstuff: How in the world did you

1) get a doc to prescribe domperidone and
2) find a pharmacy that would actually fill it?

I wanted to try this when my youngest was born b/c I wasn't able to produce enough to b/f my older two. I begged and begged the RE for it but was instead given an oxytocin injection and a prescription for Reglan. Did zilch for me. He said that b/c the FDA had sent out warnings against domperidone for lactation, no one would fill it. Made me so damn mad! I'd have liked to have been able to nurse at least one of my kids.
