The greatest quarterback of all time and a complete legend from the hallowed halls of the NFL.

He won the Superbowl the year I was born.

He passed on earlier this week of a heart attack.

Rest in peace, Mr. Football.

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

by Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

He was a big hero of mine. Back then I hated reading. But I read his bio a dozen times.

He was a football player, not a money machine. He understood that it was the game, the game...

He was a great player and a better human by all accounts. Something the atheletes of today need to learn. May he rest in peace.

baltimore is thinking about renaming the stadium.<however I doubt this will happen since they're money whores>

I do know they're erecting a statue in his honor for in front of the stadium.

Might I add that he was a great advocate for the athletes that didn't have insurance. He totally mangled his arm and hand throwing for the colts and they didn't take care of him. That in itself was shameful.

He was the best damn QB the game has ever seen.

Hear, Hear, KM.

He was an icon here where I live among Colts fans. I still know people who have old newspaper front pages of the Super Bowls hung lovingly in frames in their dens and living rooms.

He was a larger than life figure who never acted it.
