An hour or so I pressed "submit" on a new story. It's the fourth in my series My Little Sister Sal (the one that began with Too Cold Not to Fuck).

I want to add the new story to the series as soon as possible. Has anyone tried this while the story is still in Pending? Or do I actually have to wait until it's been published?

You have to wait until it's published. The Series function appears to work with live links, not from the pending pile.

Patience, grasshopper ;).

It's not going to change the position in the queue that much since you just submitted it.

But, it's an easy fix when it is posted, just do it when it does get posted.

Although you can submit stories a day or so apart, I'd suggest you wait until the previous chapter has posted before you hit the "Submit" button for another one. My reasoning is that if a chapter is rejected, you might have chapters posted out of order. My experience has been that LIT gives chapter numbers in the sequence they are posted, and it may be more difficult to get them rearranged/renumbered than just waiting for a day or so before you hit the "Submit" button again.

I usually do Preview & Publish and then Back To Make Changes, but maybe that's what you mean.

If you hit save draft, then go back in you can add it to the series before you publish. I do that all the time.
Does it build the series links properly when they're all published? That is, the "previous chapter, next chapter" connectivity?

Seems to okay.
I think, though, you can only add to series that you've set as Manual, but if the series is Automatic then Lit will associate it eventually.

Yes, the Manual system can jump ahead of the auto-compile process. I'm curious that it does so while the story is still Pending, according to SamBomb, that is, before the chapter has been reviewed by Laurel.

My next 750 metacafe story scheduled for 1st Feb is linked as the next in the six-part series from last year's Pretentious Nonsense, although the series page itself only says the five actually published stories.

Hi folks, thanks for all the answers. I found the button for adding the story to the series - while in Pending, no less. Strangely, I don't remember seeing it when I was working on my laptop, only on my tablet. I'll have to check whether there's really a difference or whether I was just blind.

That makes sense to me, if the sixth story is not yet live.

Link?

So apparently the button *isn't* there on my laptop. Curious.

Looking, i guess it doesn't. How do I fix that now? They are listed as part of the story on my main page though.

Go to the Series button on your account page and Start a New Series. Then add the chapters in the order you want them displayed. Each chapter has to be published though, to be added. As each new chapter is published, you keep on adding them in.

The alternative is to use Story Title Ch.01, Story Title Ch.02 etc, and let the system do it for you. It's an automatic process, that kicks in as soon as you publish the second chapter.
