Actor David Prowse, Star Wars' Original Darth Vader, Dead at 85

British bodybuilder-turned-actor David Prowse, best known as the physical embodiment of Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy, has died. He was 85.

“It’s with great regret and heart-wrenching sadness for us and millions of fans around the world to announce that our client DAVE PROWSE M.B.E. has passed away at the age of 85,” Prowse’s management company tweeted early Sunday. According to CNN, Prowse died of prostate cancer.

They should have shown the before pictures with his obit. The after pictures just made him look old and sad. I'd like to bemoan our loss, but David, we hardly knew ye. Just another guy in a mask, like any common Batman, anyone can do the job. Heck, I always thought the voice was James Earl Jones, but then I only saw that movie once, when it first came out. Star Wars, not Batman.

Interesting, the great legend James Earl Jones was the VOICE behind the mask, but David Browse was the actor.

RIP Mr. Prowse, at least Mr. Jones is still kicking at damn near 90!
