Activist Judge(s) and their Rulings?

We hear a lot about Activist Judges and their rulings. Sometimes we like to brands a Judge or Judges as "Activist" if we do not like the ruling. So let's take this to a new level. If you have a clear example of an Activist Judge, post it.

FL Supreme Court - 2000.

The Judges that voted to lengthen the amount of time to count votes, and this action subsequently reduced the time allowed for a candidate to contest the election. The duration of time needed to certify the vote, as well as time to protest said certification, was the responsibility of the FL Legislature, and was laid down in FL code.

The FL court decided to ignore the time-lines. Little did they know that in the then-near future, 7 of the 9 Justices of the SCOTUS would rule that FL was in violation of the US Constitution.
