How can I respond to feedback without disclosing my real name and my real email address.
Is there a means by which I can respond using my ‘pen’ name?
And if so, can someone please tell me how to do it.

Set up a free webased email account elsewhere.

Literotica has one, check the story index page.

Have all of your fan mail shunted there. Most email clients offer you the option of sending your replies from one address while showing a different address as a return address. Check your options/preferences menus.

What I would suggest is that you set up a web based email account, such as Yahoo or Hotmail. They are free and easy to set up. Then make that your "official" email address here at Lit, so that any feedback will go to that address. That way you can respond to your fans, and it won't matter if they pick up the email account - it's not your "real one".

I've only had one person that I sent a "Thank you" turn around and begin to send me spam. I've since blocked that person's email address, so I no longer receive it. And there are a couple of folks that I've replied to and have struck up ongoing conversations and such - always welcome.

But, that is what I do. I'm sure other writers here will have better suggestions.

I would recommend Yahoo or Hotmail. I signed up for the free literotica mail account and they spammed my legitimate mail account to death. The mail service also had a tendency to lose messages.

I have a problem, I think

A man has sent me 2 emails in which he made himself and me the lead characters in two very hot scenes. I read the first paragraph on the first email, hit reply and told him I thought the writing was good, he should submit it here.

Then the second arrived. I didn't read this one, other than skimming as I scrolled down. I replied the same way, being careful to not sound encouraging.

Two of my male friends online thought I was cruel to him, and just gave him, quoting here "brush off" and "heave ho."

I don't think I am mistaken here when I express my concern. What do you all think? If a 3rd one comes I am thinking of telling him my fiance enjoyed the stories and that it got him really turned on

thank you,
mlyn :rose:

You don't know what this man's intentions are. He could be a decent guy reaching out to a woman he's interested in or he could be a psycho. I got stuff like that every once in a great while, though it hasn't happened since I put up that I was extremely happily married to my fabulous StudMuffin and I am not going to exchange sexually oriented email, do phone sex, or swap pix in my profile.

What I did is ask him point blank what he expected me to do with the story. Some people want me to edit it, some people just want me to approve of their writing, some people want me to get sexually involved with their writing. He wanted me to get off on it. So I explained to him that I don't share my sexual life with anyone but the StudMuffin, and certainly not with stories starring me by people I don't know. A girl can't be too careful because there are some strange people in this world.

He wasn't really happy about that, of course. He sent me an apology for bothering me, I replied that it was okay because he didn't offend me, but next time he comes across an author that intrigues him, it might be a good idea to find out if she's receptive first. Haven't heard from him since.

I don't like getting stories in my inbox, for any reason. I absolutely don't like getting pictures in my inbox. They fill it up too quickly and I don't look at pix and I don't read the stories.

I gotta agree with you Myln. Whenever I receive feedback and they want to do things with me or to me, I don't like it. I don't care if is fictional or otherwise, it still makes me uncomfortable. And I learned long ago, never to ignore this feeling and I would suggest you do the same.

So what you brush someone off or tell them to fuck themselves. Worst that can happen is they think you are a bitch or an asshole. Maybe they get mad and give your stories the old '1' vote . . . big fucking deal.

I've got news for them, lots of people think I'm an asshole and I actually have to see them on a day-to-day basis, so boo-fuckin'-hoo, join the club, until you can learn how to deal with people in a respectful way that doesn't weird them out.

Hi; I'm new here and i've sent feedback to some
people. First, I wouldn't write about you unless
I asked permission.... and I wouldn't feel bad if
you didn't answer... well, maybe a little... : ]
Rather than answer his e-mail maybe you should just
ignore him. I agree that writers should answer querries
but i think in this case you would be justified in
not doing so.... Just a thought
